1. This proverb tells u sto guard our hearts and mids. What is the reason for this?
The passage also tells us to let your eyes look directly ahead. Although, I might be off I believe that its telling us that we need to stay focused on Christ, he is the light in the darkness, he is good, in him there is not evil but peace. I believe that guard our hearts and minds goes right back to image seven, and goes with the garbage in garbage out principle. We need to guard our hearts and minds from on the filth of this word, from the pornography, from the foul language, and from the dirty thoughts. We need to stay focused on Christ and our journey with him. I loved the analogy of two dogs fighting one “good” one “bad”, I have found myself in that situation many times and in some cases the bad wins. But after reading this I need to ask myself what dog am I feeding? When I do bad, it’s the bad dog. Garbage in Garbage out, just as in sports if you often practice like garbage your game will reflect it, same goes for your mind and your heart.
2. why do you think this passage puts such and emphasis on what is deposited inside us?
There is such and emphasis on what is deposited inside us because that is what we really are. For example look at a human only 16 percent of the body is skin, that leaves 84 percent of the

However, with faith you can be strong, you can say no. You can walk away. Probably one of the most valuable pieces of advice I ever received from a former coach was on why he doesn’t do the sport crossfit. He said because I know what Ill do Ill look at women and think man I wish I could have that and he will begin to Covent other women. He said it doesn’t do crossfit because he doesn’t want to put himself in that situation. He went on to explain that if a situation that he could be evolved in is on the line, he will walk away, there is too much evil in the word to go place you self in evil
“It is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a paper no others are to see. It is base and evil. It is as if we were speaking alone to no ears but our own. And we know well that there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone” (p.3)
This verse is saying that unseen evil forces cannot bother believers after they have shielded themselves with the knowledge of divine love and light. The covering of God’s light protects His people with Divine purity of love.
into manhood you must not despair of life, but gather strength to sustain you.” From this
“It was a new discovery to find that these stories were, after all, about our own lives, were not distant, that there was no past or future that all time is now-time, centred in the being.” (Pp39.)
The argument begins by making a distinction between corruptibility and incorruptibility. This distinction made is that because the body is corruptible, and the soul is viewed as a substance that is incorruptible, an explanation is needed as to how the soul can continue
“These need only suppose, that the Human Body is a Machine of an infinite Number and Variety of different Channels and Pipes, filled with various and different Liquors and Fluids, perpetually running, gliding, or creeping forward, or returning backward, in a constant Circle and fending out little Branches and Outlets, to moisten, nourish, and repair the Expenses of Living. “Pg 5
Continually, there was a second question, when and where is matter? Our own mind can answer this, we find that our souls are what is important to our existence. All of the esteemed values and morals we seek to grasp, are in our own Spirit. nature isn’t formed around ourselves, but within ourselves. We have no bounds. We have the power to know all.. and see all, just as...
... “He has his goodness now, God forbid I take it from him!” that provided we withhold our own personal integrity that what we do is right in our own minds, our consciousness will be clean and we can live out our lives in enjoyment.
The time between September and January, I had to learn to push myself when I felt scared. For a few months, anytime I would go to practice I would try and complete the assigned practice but I always backed out when things got too tough. One day my hesitations of pushing myself became obvious to my coach so she pulled me aside and gave my a great lecture that influenced how I view my life today. I wish I could have recorded her talk with me, but the gist of our talk left me the greatest lesson of my life. When I am faced with trial and turmoil in my life, there are choices left for me to take. I either have to choose to fight, fit, or to fade. To fight, I have to push myself further than my own limitations. I have to look past my mind’s limit and succeed further than I thought ever possible. To fit, is choosing to stay in comfort, never changing, or to play it safe. To fade, is to give up on trying, forget motivation and to just curl into a ball of self pity and fade away. I choose to fight, I fought through my fear of working hard and pushing my heart rate higher than I felt comfortable. I continue choosing to fight everyday, I challenge myself from being comfortable. I chose my life to be lived this way because I decided that living comfortably would not give me growth or fading away would not give me life. I choose my life to be this way not because I had the will power to do so, but because I had the love and encouragement and great people around me. I was not alone during this hard time in my life, I had friends, coaches, family and God to give me guidance. Not a day goes by that I don’t look back at this time in my life with a smile. I am only thankful for everything that happened to me then and grateful for everything that followed after that time. My plan is to continue to fight and live my life
Knowing what factors will diminish the effectiveness of my work or words if neglected (Proverbs 18:15)
“Everyday, I see every sin in everyone just waiting to jump out and do their worst. I know how tempting it is to do what you want when you want but we don’t. I see people slowly wanting more and more to do wrong but they don’t. We are stronger than what we give ourselves credit for. Some of us have done some really dark, cruel, and horrific things but you can come back from that. Some of us can’t change but that doesn't mean you can't. We are capable of the worst things imaginable but in turn that also means we’re capable of the greatest things imaginable. As a whole we all have a long ways to go with the way we treat the environment, each other, and ourselves. No matter what someone will fight for you because everyone is worth fighting for.
(This is perhaps the greatest principle to learn in interpreting proverbs--what they are not. Most misinterpretations occur here.)
