Futuristic Second American Civil War

When one thinks of the United States of America, they think of freedom; they think of integrity, and they think of the land of possibilities. That is why when asked if a second civil war is feasible, one might find it difficult to receive an answer of “no that’s impossible.” The United States of America might be the promised land, but along with every great item known to mankind, it needed its share of mistakes to even start becoming as significant as it is today. These can date as far back as when Christopher Columbus came to America and began executing the Native Americans. Or even a little later in history when they decided that the color of one’s skin defined them as a person. In fact, America has had plenty of downfalls that help establish what it is today, not for the better of the country, but for the worse. So how is one to say that a country whom has a history of making wrong decisions, will not continue to do so in the future? And who is to say that the United States can not have a problem immense enough, that even with the strictest of laws, that only war can restore it? That is why, when asked, a great number of historians say due to previous conditions and possible future conditions, it is undoubtedly possible for the United States to experience yet another civil war. To understand how a future civil war is possible, you first have to examine the causes and conditions that led this country to its first civil war. When asked what the main cause of the civil war was, one might say slavery, and they would be correct. But the American Civil War was much more than a fight over slavery, because in reality plenty of southerners did not own slaves, and numerous northerners participated in the owning of slaves as well. Thus, it will cause an American Civil War, and as Lieutenant Colonel Patterson says, “the results would probably not be pretty, we would become a policed country, which is bad, basically you would see soldiers everywhere and you could only go to certain places at certain times, you wouldn’t want to see that our country” (Patterson, Lt.
