Friends was an iconic sitcom from the ‘90s about six friends living in New York City. The show was ten seasons long through which it delved into the personal lives of Chandler Bing, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Rachel Green, Monica Geller, and Ross Geller. It was popular when it aired in the ‘90s and early 2000s and is even more popular now with a “weekly audience of 16 million in the U.S.”(Sternbergh). Even though it is a beloved show it still has its faults; one of which being how it ended. Throughout the seasons Ross and Rachel have a complicated on and off relationship. On the last episode, Rachel is leaving for a job in Paris and then decides not to go because Ross professes his love for her at the last second and asks her not to leave. …show more content…
They tried multiple times to be together and their relationship always failed, because of Ross. He was a terrible, selfish boyfriend. When she first started working at Bloomingdales Rachel had to basically figure out how to do her job and was working long hours. Instead of supporting her and being happy for her since she finally had a job she loved, Ross was angry because he “was tired of having a relationship with her answering machine.”(Friends). He wanted to come first even though his job always came before her. His possessiveness and jealousy show when Rachel plans to go to a fashion lecture with a male co-worker and Ross was not going to let that happen so he insists she takes him instead. Then he tries to talk to her during the lecture, distracting her. Then he falls asleep and starts snoring, which was completely disrespectful and highly embarrassing for Rachel. Does Ross apologize for it? No, he complains that it was boring, even though he’s the one that practically begged to go. It was all so she wouldn’t go with a friend who happens to be male, which also shows that Ross does not trust Rachel. It’s Ross who shouldn’t be trusted, he slept with someone else the first chance he got. They got in a big fight and all she wanted a break, not to break up completely, just a little break. He doesn’t even wait a day before sleeping with another woman. If he truly cared for Rachel and her feelings, he would not have done that, he would have waited for her to cool down and patch things up. He thinks he’s done nothing wrong though, because they were on a break. Then, around season eight, Rachel is pregnant with Ross’s baby and even though they aren’t dating he continues to treat her like his property. She goes out on a date, while pregnant, and Ross goes ballistic. He thinks she shouldn’t date anyone, not because he wants to date her again, but because she’s carrying his baby. Yet, he

They are not rich and the sitcom shows the two couples living a hard life from a comical point of view. Although ‘Men Behaving Badly’ is not that much older than ‘Friends’ the more recent episodes of Friends are quite different to the final episodes of M.B.B.
In Full House there is a scene in one episode where the family’s dog, Comet, ran away and went missing for several hours, throughout the episode there are short messages about not giving up and believing that if Comet loves them he will come back. At the end of the episode comet finally appears at night when the family is huddled around in the backyard hoping to eventually find they’re dog and just when they decide to go in, Comet comes running up and barking in excitement to find all his family in one area celebrating his return. In Friends throughout the different seasons, Monica, Joey, Rachel, Ross, and Chandler are usually caught up with relationships. To give an example of just how much drama goes on in this show, Joey has been in a relationship with Rachel, Rachel has been in a relationship with ross, Phoebe has been in a relationship with Joey and Chandler gets married to Monica after an on and off
While Rachel was not the favorite of the characters of the show, she was the most prominent, and still when people say Friends the television show everyone’s mind jumps to Jennifer
They are going to be the people in your life that are semi-constant, and your actions, and how you decide to respond to situations affects your friend's actions, and sometimes emotional well-being. There needs to be a balance between your friends and your personal well-being. Finding that balance is a difficult thing to find on occasions. People get so wrapped up in how their decisions will affect their friends, that they forget to think about the main person of the show, themselves. I think that was what happened with Charlie. He was so used to not having that great of friends that when he got friends, he was in a panic that they would leave him if he did not make decisions that would help them

True friends are never apart, maybe in distance but never in heart. In my opinion, I believe the term “friendship” means a strong bond you have with someone who understands you and you understand back. A true friend cares for you, supports you during your rough times, and protects you. Elliot learns from his encounter with E.T. that true friendship is found in the heart. In the paragraphs below, I will state how E.T. teaches Elliot that a true friend is someone who cares for you; supports you during your rough times; protects you.
When Ruth and Kathy were in the cottages they had a big argument about mimicking, and then shortly after the argument Ruth asked Kathy “are we still friends?”. This shows how much the friendship means to jboth of them, because they can get through any argument. No matter how many fights, misunderstandings, and bad times they have together, their friendship means a lot to all of them and they could not be without each
On a conscious level, we rarely spend much time actually thinking about and classifying our friends. However, since I was a small child, my mother taught me to recognize and appreciate various types of friends. I have discovered that there are three different types of friends. I group them according to how well I know them and how well they know me. We encounter each type of friend everyday, whether in school, home, or at the gym. First, there are the "pest friends"- general acquaintances. Next, there are "guest friends"- social partners. Lastly, we have "best friends"- our true friends.
Growing up in school you have your friends in 1st, then in Jr. High, and then when you get to high school you might not even know or see your friends from 1st grade anymore. For the few people who’s had a friend from 1st grade till college I think that someone they need to hold on to because if they stuck with you through all them year I know they’re there for the right reason and there not just there for a season. As Elizabeth Dunphy says, “It’s the little things that matter, that add up in the end, with the priceless thrilling magic found only in a friend.”
