Freshman Comp is a course that prepares students with essential writing, research, and critical thinking skills. Including both academic and personal growth as a writer, from initial apprehension to final presentation, ultimately preparing students for the future. Freshman comp is a journey in which students transition from high school to a college-level mentality when it comes to writing. Ultimately, this course will empower students to become confident writers and thinkers. Starting freshman comp, I was overwhelmed with the amount of work and essays required for the course. As the year progressed, it only became more difficult to keep up with the assignments coming in, due to the fact that there were so many things to do. During my free time, I would attempt to work ahead in this course, but I realized that there is no rush when it comes to writing if you want your stories to be good and easily comprehendible to the reader. One assignment that came to mind that helped me with the writer's perspective on things was the process analysis essay. This assignment made me grow not just as a writer, but as a devoted person to find key information about the topic at hand. Secondly, this course helped me understand the value of revising your work, when it comes to grammar, punctuation, and word clarity. Allowing me to dive deeper and refine my ideas, ultimately making me a better writer. I realized that my style of writing was a bit rushed when it came to word fluctuations, for example, sometimes I would talk when I write and forget to type keywords required for my sentence fluctuations. I also needed to reconstruct the way I was thinking coming into this course as a writer, I needed to add more information supporting my arguments, and taking away unnecessary
