volunteering is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. In this report i will talk about the different types of volunteering in the:
Within the first year of opening they had helped fifty-two girls see their greatness and help them strive for a better future.Mr. Don J. Brewster was the pastor for a catholic church in Sacramento,California. He went on his first trip to Cambodia in 2005, which was to see the missions his church has been supporting for years. Upon arrival to Svay Pak the only issue only seemed to be poverty, he played with the children, visited the pastors from the missions, and went back on his way home. The next day, after he arrived home, he turned on the news, and the headline story on NBC was “Children For ...

Altogether, my perspective on this affiliation embraces the importance of education and safety across all of the United stated. The founder has surfaced a great importance to what may have been over looked. Furthermore, being that most children engage in camp experiences at some time in their life; as youngsters with the ability to absorb information like a sponge as well as being risk takers, it is imperative to hold education and safety as a high quality of a camp experience. Moreover, is the education of communicable disease along with prevention of outdoors dangers as I had mentioned before the West Nile Virus. In conclusion, I view the volunteers as inspirational people that bring knowledge to others, but most importantly benefiting the children.
Free the Children is a charity that aims to develop a sustainable way for youth in third world countries to have access to basic rights such as food, shelter, and education. It empowers youth to join programs, help raise awareness, and create change for the less fortunate (Wingrove, 2010). The organization was created by Craig Kielburger in 1995 at the age of 12 with 11 classmates from school (Kielburger, 2006). Over the years Free the Children has been responsible for building over 650 schools in over 45 countries, and took in $15,683,212 in Canada alone during the 2009 fiscal year (“Results and Impacts”). Craig Kielburger exemplified extremely strong leadership qualities from a very young age, and continues to do so to this day. Along with his brother, Marc Kielburger, created a very strong set of principles that allows their organization to flourish. Craig Kielburger’s strong leadership qualities drive him to strive for revolutionary change and this directly results in the organizational success of Free the Children, which is admired worldwide.
Red Cross, Josea’s feed the hungry and UNICE- what do they all have in common? They are all nonprofit organizations. Throughout the world, but especially in the United States nonprofit organizations are very important and a necessity for many cities. It has become one of the main focuses for a growing amount of majors and studies for many people. With more than 8 million employees and more than 80 million volunteers in the United States alone nonprofit are some of the most important job in recent times (Drucker). The importance of many nonprofit organizations could be the difference between many people’s lives and their deaths. The importance of nonprofit organizations is growing throughout the United States day by day. The fact that nonprofits are built solely on helping the people throughout your community and neighboring communities make nonprofits important based on that fact in itself. Nonprofit provide places to sleep when maybe a family has nowhere to go or somewhere to have a hot meal. This could be someone in your family, a close friend or even a distant neighbor but in all people are people and help is help so the reasons for nonprofit being important are ongoing.
Volunteers - these are the people who go out and provide the support, they are very important as they don’t work for money, so this helps the financial side of UNICEF. The volunteers also can have a key important influence into the final outcome of UNICEF as they are the ones that are physically providing the service.
The relationship between young people and nonprofits can be the start of a significant change in our community, and should be a reciprocal and powerful educational experience. An open-minded and encouraging flow of communication between organizations and community members can be the launchpad for the social and environmental change organizations talk about and try for every day. Together, we can make change – not just a semblance of idealism, but reality, as well.
Volunteerism creates a stronger community in several ways. Generally, volunteering creates a better life in citizens and instills happiness. Specifically, in a survey of 101 randomly selected districts in the UK including districts such as; Bristol,
... use education as an empowerment tool through which people can improve their quality of life. It is necessary to show farmers and society examples of their children’s potential and how this potential is wasted by forcing them to work versus going to school. Society also has to be encouraged to report cases of child labor exploitation and most importantly we need to educate children about their rights so they can identify themselves when these rights are violated.
Volunteering enables a person to develop new skills that he or she would otherwise not have been able to develop. Unlike most other organizations, a charitable organization is happy to give positions to passionate, though inexperienced, individuals who desire to help others and benefit the community. Therefore, an individual with little experience in a field of work can gain meaningful skills that he or she can use in the future. For example, while I volunteered at the hospital this summer, I learned about the daily work lives and professional duties of doctors and nurses. Had I not volunteered, I would not have learned about these things. I was always interested in the medical field, but volunteering at the hospital let me explore my interests and en...
Poverty extends out over all continents, making it the most widespread negative factor. Out of the world’s 2.2 billion children, approximately half live in poverty according to UNICEF. Poverty claims approximately 22,000 children’s lives per day. This statistic illustrates the struggle children that live in poverty must face in order to survive. Poverty is a root cause of hunger, disease, and lack of shelter. It is concentrated in pockets in areas such as South Africa and South Asia. Children, who must...
Volunteering in your local community is great way to give back and set a positive example at the same time. Let’s take a look at some of the problems in our community that affect many people.
Volunteering benefits a person by building connections with peers, improving family life, expanding career skills, overcoming self doubt, having lasting life impressions, and creating new opportunities. Just a small act can make a huge difference in someone’s life. The future is dependent on the individual person and the people they surround themselves with. Just a few hours will change both the volunteer’s life and the one that is in need.
