It is important to the united states of america and me.why because the gift of life is freedom, why because we are free we have the freedom of speech like everyone else .In my generation every race has the same opportunity of education. As i said we have the freedom of speech and we can decide our future.
In my generation all races are treated equally everyone has the same education opportunity. In my generation every kid can go to school it does not matter your economic life . you may be asking why because back in the old days You needed money to go to school . Now there is free education in schools it doesn't matter what race you are , Like i said back in the day was not so good because they made separate schools. One for whites and
Because of the Bill of Rights that I am able to go to school, worship God freely, speak freely, and benefit from so many other rights as well. The right to education is very precious. In many other countries, I would have no right to an education just because I am female. The freedom to worship is also very precious. In some places people are forced into one religion and have no right to practice another. To me, the Bill of Rights means a lot of things. It means that I don't have to go through the troubles that I would go through in other places, and I have an opportunity to accomplish great things. It also means that everyone has the right to be treated fairly. I think it is important because it protects the rights that all human beings deserve. It makes sure that the president doesn't have so much control that he starts to act more like a king than a president. Most of all, it is important because it puts the decision-making in the hands of the
...ot, it allows us to express ourselves freely and to share with others our uniqueness. It is this right and this freedom that allows us to be free in our daily speech and happenings. So, ask yourself, if this right was restricted would this be the "land of the free and the home of the brave?"
According to Roger Rosenblatt “since free is the way people's minds were made to be”, freedom of speech is important to speak one's mind in a way that expresses his/her opinion even if this opinion does not seem to convince others. In my opinion, without freedom of speech, the United States would have failed to be such a powerful country as it is today.
...disparities between the two ethnic communities that can be traced back to the legacy of slavery and other forms of oppression that blacks have suffered.” Supporters of this view felt that educational achievement correlates more strongly with economic status than with any other single variable. Since the majority of the black community lags behind whites in income and wealth, the educational inequalities are caused by the economic inequalities. They believe that once the inequalities disappear, the educational disparities will as well. Many argue that this is not a viable argument. They point to other minority groups such as Asians, some of whom are financially worse off than blacks, and they excel in school . They felt that because the civil rights legislation removed all roadblocks back in the 60’s and 70’s something else must be contributing to the large gap.
"Freedom" a word that is expressed for so many reasons and can be interpreted in so many different ways. Freedom is so important to the United States of America, because our country is known to be free. In our country, people are supposed to have the freedom to be able to follow whichever religion that one chooses. Religion plays an immense factor in everyone's lives, this is because, there are several people in the world that believe in different things and they base their lives conferring to the guidelines of their religion. Religious oppression occurs when an individual or a group of individuals mistreat others as a response to their beliefs; religious affiliations or lack of belief. "The tendency of societies or groups within society to alienate or repress different subcultures is a recurrent theme in human history." (Cram101)
When the colonist set for the new world a cheap source of labor was needed in order to literally build the new nation. Today a cheap labor source is acquired through different means, that is, Segregation. Segregation can be defined as the separation of students of the basis of their race to assure an “inexpensive source of labor” (Spring 43). Economic exploitation through education encompasses an inferior education where students are left in the dark because of the minimal chance of school as a means for economic achievement. This adds on to one group of people (whites) to feeling financially superior to others because of resulting classes. The legal doctrine “separate but equal” justified the segregation of schools although universally the schools for nonwhites were greatly underfinanced compared to those of whites. In Brown V. Board of Education, the verdict is overturned and made “Separate is not Equal” ending segregation in schools, well in a very slow manner. Segregation still factors a huge roll in American Education. Again, the high school I attended was predominantly Mexican and compared to other schools I have visited there is a huge gap in the financial support of each institution. Only 10 of 433 students that I graduated with are still in college, the 423 left are either convicts, dead, or working minimum wage jobs, not as a source of leisurely expenses but as a means of
In reality there are so many obstacles which affect people depending on one’s economic level, education, race, gender, and area of residence to being successful. It is very appalling how some schools in some areas in US are equipped with all the resources to support high academic achievement and some schools in other low economic areas are just structured to give just the basic tool students need which perpetuate poverty and economic dependence of the people. When it comes to race, although it is considered wrong to discriminate because of race, racial discrimination still exists especially in job interviews. For example, a “non-colored” candidate could be picked over a “colored candidate”. Also the costs of colleges are increasing. In 1980 average tuition was $7,600, then in 2010 it was $27,300, and finally in 2014-2015 it became $30,094. Average American parent cannot afford the school tuition. David Sokol, from Fox News, said, “According to a recent research report from CNN/ORC International, 59 percent of adults believe the American dream has become impossible...poll goes on to state that 63 percent of those surveyed believe most children in this country will grow to be worse off than their
It is important to maintain our freedom of religion because it is our God given right and no one should take it away from us. Freedom of religion is eccentual to our survival as a free nation and we must ensure that we always fight to keep all the freedoms we currently enjoy.
This amendment is the most important because it protects the right to speak against corruption or to practice a religion of my choice and it is one of the reasons why I can speak my mind.
Our Founding Fathers signed a highly important document on September 17, 1787 that had ideas that were unique at that time. It formed a new government that has lasted for over 200 years. The United States Constitution gives Americans rights at birth that lasts until the time they die. One of the most important rights is in Amendment I, or more specifically, the freedom of speech. Freedom of speech gives one the right to express or say their opinions with no restraint. Americans across the nation use this right everyday from having bumper stickers on their cars to protesting for what they believe in. We, as Americans, should not limit freedom of speech. Even though it allows hate speech towards people of different ethnicities, races, sexual orientation, and other groups, it also allows people to support these groups. Other positive components of freedom speech is that it allows one to express themselves and their opinions without being penalized by authorities and it is a way for people to check the government. Freedom of speech holds great importance in the American society.
It used to be said that everybody was equal. Back in the day everything was said to be separate but equal. Does this really mean that everybody is equal? NO. Well, back then this meant that all of the upper class white men were equal. The laws created were put in place to benefit these upper class white men. They had to own land. They also had to have quite a bit of money. The problem with this was that African Americans were left out. Everything was segregated, including schools. Blacks were not considered equal. Blacks were not thought to be human.
One way of showing the importance of freedom is by giving examples of how one might not have it. Take for instance, someone that has a disability and is blind. They are not as equally free to walk around the streets enjoying everyday life. These individuals can feel trapped and may not be as independent as they wish they could be. Having freedom is being able to act, speak or do things without being held back by anyone. There is no such thing as complete freedom, every freedom has its limits. If there were no limits to regulate the amount of freedom people shall receive, everything would be chaos. Throughout the world many countries have written fine documents to defend their right of freedom. The U.S has a section in the Constitution called the “Bill of Rights” which is a section that include the amendments specifying all the freedoms a US citizen shall receive. The most “Well Known” rights are: freedom of Speech, freedom of Religion, freedom of the Press and freedom to Petition the Government. People believe that the first amendment is the most important because, it allows individuals to practice any religion they desire without anybody restricting them or being told what religion they should follow or practice. Freedom of speech is also included in the same amendment, and it is also important due to the fact that it means that people have the right to speak up on what they believe in and have the right to give their own opinions. One of the most influential right is freedom of the Press. People are able to write on social media their opinions on different topics and everyone can see what their opinion is. It is the most influential since, anyone can start an argument on the internet and any one can join to express their feelings. According to Philosopher Wendell Kenckel (2011), “freedom is important because the ultimate perceiving conscious principle of yourself, is
In today’s world, it is important for an individual to be able to read, write, and think critically in order to contribute to society. Many parts of the world have a free public education system in which children from all social classes can attend public school free up through high school. In fact, Americans pay taxes to pay for the education of thousands of children. So why are there still people who cannot read, write, or think critically in these areas with free public education? Primary causes may be the lack of opportunities of lower classes, an individual's own motivation, or an intellectual learning disability.
Education has been provided for all students in the United States. As we see educational opportunity in the United States has been determined by one 's socioeconomic status. Although all students have the opportunity to receive an education, it is not equally given to students because of their socioeconomic status. Students in the lower class are given less educational opportunity then the higher class. The higher class goes above and beyond to encourage students to pursue an education. While students in the lower class are not as encouraged as the higher class education.
Freedom of speech is the right given to every individual. Everyone has been given the right to speak their mind and share their opinions. This right is always important but in higher learning, it is essential. Without freedom of speech the whole idea of higher education would just be a contradiction. When an institute of higher education tries to resist this right the whole purpose of the institute becomes contradicted. One needs their right to freely speak their mind for higher education to be a successful venture. The right to free speech is essential in higher education because it gives the individual the chance to fearlessly be who they are, the mind substance to develop and, the opportunity to bring better ideas about.
