Forensic science is not only my passion; it is part of my DNA. My interest in forensics stems from my uncle’s prestigious position in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I have always listened in awe as he explained the training he had gone through at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He impressed upon me the importance of detail, curiosity and patience. Such traits are very important when it comes to collecting and analyzing evidence with the purpose of seeking justice. I want to do more than just respect justice. I want to be an advocate for it.

A Drug Enforcement Agency agent visited my grade school, enlightening me on the importance of working in a job that seeks to serve and protect. I was so intrigued that it inspired me to train in a profession where I can be a positive asset to my community. I want to uncover riddles that require persistence, dedication, and commitment. Recently, I have visited the FBI Laboratory in Virginia. The people at the lab are intent on solving crimes and making our community a safer place. The Founding Fathers established the precedent of equal justice under the law. The United States was perhaps the first nation where everyone, rich or poor, could attain justice. That is not to say that injustice never rears its ugly head. I want to use my talents to make the United States a better nation for everyone. In the news, I see stories where people are victims of injustice; for example, people who are convicted, but turn out to be innocent.
