Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. A person’s failures does not define them but it's how they learn and come back from those failures is what really matters. Failure is something that everyone will experience in life and it may help you succeed in the long run.The failure that has made the greatest impact on me was in 7th grade I got cut from the New Richmond basketball team. Seventh grade was a weird and confusing time for me because you have all three elementary schools joining together to make one school. At Monroe Elementary I was somebody that other kids looked up to because of my athleticism.I went from being the best to to just another kid good at sports. When football season came I know that I would be okay because football was the sport I was the best at and there is no cuts in football. I did start running back though …show more content…
This still didn't discourage me though I still thought that I was good enough to make the team because when I played for monroe I did lead my team. So how the tryouts worked was there were two cut days one on the second day of tryouts and another on the fourth day of tryouts. I then made it past the first cut and I was feeling pretty confident. Then the second cuts came and the coach gave everyone letters either saying they made the team or didn't make it. The letter that I got said that I did not make the team. I was so confused and mad that I didn't make it I thought for sure that I would make it. This gave me a reality check maybe I was so good as i thought I was. The thing that I was maddest about was that all my friends were playing and I was not.All I could think about was that Michael Jordan got cut his Sophomore year of basketball and maybe I was just like him. This was my first failure that I ever encountered and I didn't take it so
Failure to me was the position I was stuck in as a little girl, my family was stuck with little resources and stayed in the same neighborhood. In order for my expectations of my life to be where they are at now, they required me to live with that failure.
What exactly is failure? It is, according to the dictionary, “Lack of success.” Many people say that “failure isn’t the falling down, but the staying down.” But who are we to say? Lack of hope, the thought that death and failure are one and the same, and a pessimistic outlook on life can cause someone to fail, but thankfully not everyone falls victim to these. Failure is always controversial, because people view things and events differently. As Elaine Maxewell once said, “My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.”
Success and failure seem to be pretty distinct opposites, but many times the differences between success and failure aren’t as obvious as we may think them to be. Sometimes a failure can be turned into a success if you are willing to look back at them, and are open to learning from them. Many times, one’s attitude toward a failure can determine whether or not anything is learned from it. Those who remain upbeat and positive after a failure may be able to get something out of it, but those who just don’t think about it and ignore it won’t get anything from it.
Failure is described as "lack of success". Success is defined as "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose". If failure is lack of success and success is to accomplish an aim or purpose, then I have failed a lot of times in my life. I was well-raised in a little island called Dominican Republic. I am proud to be Dominican.
It was the most competitive three days of my life, basketball tryouts. This is the first time my friends and I were trying out for a school team, we were all hyped for basketball season. I entered the tryout excited and consequently energetic. Adrenaline was pulsing through all the players bodies, there were 6 foot tall 8th graders with years of experience competing against 6th graders who have never touched a basketball before for the same spots. I was in between, I was a 6th grader that had experience along with some skill. That was also my downfall, I went in overconfident and consequently cocky. I wasn’t planning on getting cut, I walked into the tryout overwrought, nothing could stop me from being on the team.
Failure is one aspect of life that no one can avoid. The terror that comes from failure is that it has the power to break someone down to where they feel they can not get up and overcome the situation. Failing at a situation seems to make all hard work vanish in an instant, as if all the time and effort that was put forth into succeeding was never even there. Although failure can hurt and cause anxiety and even depression, it also allows a person to discover that even though they have been crushed they can still conquer it and succeed in the end.
Failure can be a blessing depending on how a person looks at it. No one is fortunate enough to go through life without failure it is unavoidable. If you learn from your shortcomings you can come back stronger the next time. Every great individual, team, or group of people has experienced failure. My shortcomings my sophomore year of Basketball made me grow as a player and a person.
Oh seventh grade, what a year to remember. That was actually my favorite year of middle school. At home during this time was a mess and my grades also plummeted but I think going to school took some stress off because I was taking some time to "myself" and forgetting for a while about my home situation. Seventh grade, I would say was a year of friends for me. I had and still to this day have a friend from kindergarten that I considered a best friend. Until a new girl came along, lets call her Patricia. Patricia basically took "my spot" I guess in fifth grade while I was off at my new school for the year. Anyway speeding forward to seventh grade I noticed my best friend, lets call her Amanda, not really talking to me anymore and or passing by
Failure isn’t always something you have control of or have the ability to predict. Failure seems to happen at the worst of times; however we need to accept it, because you cannot always win. My greatest failure would be tearing my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), my junior year in a lacrosse game, through no fault of my own in which my body physically failed me, but it truly changed my aspect of life in multiple ways.
Failure means the lack of expected or required action. You may say there are no failures in Utopias but it the book The Giver by Lois Lowry there is a failure. After the failure of training Rosemary, the Giver had to change his ways so that Jonas would not fail also. He changed by giving Jonas physical pain, he gave Jonas pain very early, and he tried to stay distant.
Definition of a Football Fan Being a football fan has many perks/advantages. You can select from high school, NCAA, and/or even the NFL. No matter what level of football you like, their are fans also known as fanatics. Fanatics are people who are crazy for any sport, like football.
Everyone in life experiences failure. It can affect people positively or negatively and that all depends on how they react to the experience. If one lets their failure overcome their dreams, it will lead them in the wrong path. But if one views their failures as a motive to succeed and grow, then they are on their way to becoming successful. For me, I let my failures in life help build onto my character and define the person I am today. My childhood injury is my example as I let this moment affect the outcome of my dreams I had then.
So far, eighth grade has been my favorite year of my life. It was filled with many amazing memories with great friends. However, it didn’t start off that way. I had tried out for our school soccer team that year. My whole life, I had played soccer as a goalie, so I tried out as a goalie.
Failure happens when something isn't successful. Failure is a thing that all people can learn from. Failures can be used as lessons so that the failure will not be repeated again. One of my greatest failures in life that I've experienced and learned from would be from the time of my first grade year. I didn’t take school seriously when I was in the first grade and made terrible grades. After this failure, it made change the outlook on school and I started trying. I learned that I need to take school serious or else I will do bad in school. This failure lead to success in school and I started making good grades which will help later on in life.
Failure. What is it to you? For me, failure is the lack of change when I make a mistake. My third grade teacher, Mr. Ramirez, had used the quote “Un error es uno que no se no corrigen,” through the school year, but I never understood what it meant. On the last day, Mr. Ramirez explained the phrase as “A mistake is only a mistake if you do not fix it.” I didn’t really see its importance on that day, but by the end of fifth grade, and I was getting ready to leave elementary school, I realized the significance of Mr. Ramirez’s proverb.
