As part of learning about nutrients and food, in health class, we kept a food diary. In this food diary we kept track of every thing we ate and then calculated the calories, carbohydrates, proteins, and fat amounts in each item that we consumed. Being able to see what all we have consumed allows us to know what we should be eating more of and what we are consuming too much of. I believe that this is a very good way to maintain a healthy and well-rounded diet. After looking at my food diary and seeing how I did, I think I could probably use more calories than I am getting. It is not that I am getting way too little calories, but I could probably use another thousand calories everyday to maintain my weight. If I were trying to lose weight I would need to eat the amount of calories I am currently eating, but since that is not the case I need to be eating more calories. I should be consuming about 2,500 calories a day. The total average of my calories eaten during out three day food diary was 1,468 calories, which is almost a thousand calories less than what I should be consuming. I do eat very healthy, I had a good balance of nutrients most days. Overall, I ate healthily, but I could most certainly use some more calories. One way that I can get more calories is by eating more proteins. I do get some proteins, but unfortunately I am not getting quite as many as I should. It is a little more difficult for me to get more proteins, just because I do not normally cook with meat and so therefore it puts a deficit in my intake of proteins. I think that for guys it is much easier to get the proper amount of proteins in their diets, because guys naturally eat more meat for muscle growth. I, on the other hand, have always been more of a veget... ... middle of paper ... ...es, and when I am wanting noodles or another type of carbohydrate, trying to supplement that with protein instead. The last goal I have for myself is to watch my intake of fats. Fats are another essential part of a daily diet, but luckily for me, I normally end up eating just the right amount of fats. So, as the last step in my goal of maintaining a well-balanced diet and a healthy weight, I am going to try to make sure that my intake of fats will continue to be just the right amount. There are numerous ways to maintain a healthy life style, and this is just one of them. Keeping a food diary has been most beneficial and allowed me to see my need for more proteins and realize that carbohydrates are something that I need to continue to watch. I am going to be trying to watch the amount that I eat and what I am putting into my body, so that I can live a healthy life.
This source is valuable because it suggests that adopting a healthier diet takes time and effort, but it is ultimately beneficial in the long term.
Daily actions of checking and critiquing can be performed in many ways. Body monitoring offers an array of resources. Constantly weighing one’s self is a way of achieving quantitative precision. Being able to pinpoint an exact gain or loss is a necessity in this cycle. To be able to have an ideal weight and to accurately compare yourself leaves no room for misinterpretation. Counting Calories helps maintain discipline to be sure not to exceed the limit. If one eats certain “restricted” food, it is seen to be sinful or as breaking the rules. This restriction of food intake is in a highly disciplined way. This is part of a larger process of dieting and exercising which is used in an obsessive manner to obtain the “perfect” body. These diet rituals can go as far as to fast for days at a time. Another “tool” of monitoring is food watching, monitoring the intake of “good” and “bad” foods. Nutritionally healthy foods are considered good. Anything else, from sweets to foods with fat, are considered bad foods.
For this part of assignment, I kept record of two consecutive days of what I ate for that days and how much calories I got from that food and drinks. Every day I usually start routine with drinking water which I think is the most important thing for a healthy lifestyle. Apart from this, I learned some following main points to help me by comparing my food chart with the recommendations
This process has not been easy and I have struggled to stay consistent with my healthy eating habits. Keeping my cravings under control has always been a challenge and my love of bread makes things a little harder. I also recognized that I am a stress eater. I had never paid attention to my eating patterns until I begin to keep a journal. This project has definitively helped me monitor and attain a better Healthier lifestyle.
My overall Kcal average for the three days I recorded was 4,318, while my Daily recommended intake was 3,484. In terms of Kcal, I am eating more calories per day than recommended. Breaking it down a bit farther to percent of carbohydrates, I ate 110 percent of my Daily Required Intake for Carbohydrates, specifically 39.1 g more than recommended. The daily recommendation for protein is ten to thirty-five percent,
Overall, I am pleased with the changes that I have made to my diet, and plan to continue working towards my goals. In order to accomplish my goals in the future, I will try to slowly increase my fruit, vegetable, and whole grain consumption. Another goal that I need to work on is to slowly limit the amount of meat products that I consume. Incorporating these changes will help me accomplish my goals of increasing my calories and decreasing my protein intake to the recommended values set by the Dietary Reference intakes. As long as I can continue to practice these healthier ways of eating, I am sure to have a longer and healthier life and decrease my risk of chronic diseases as I age.
Managing my food intake of daily foods help me keep up with was going into my body. It helps me decide on things that will help me mange a stable health body. Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I can change in my intake of foods to make my diet healthy and to see what about my diet is affecting me from being healthy because I could affect me in the future.
You've probably heard about how influential protein is to gaining muscle, but it also gives you
America is a capitalist society. It should come to a surprise when we live like this daily. We work for profit. We’ll buy either for pleasure or to sell later for profit. It should come to no surprise that our food is made the same way because we are what we eat. We are capitalist that eat a capitalist meal. So we must question our politics. Is our government system to blame for accepting and encouraging monopolies?
Go food group gives our body heat and vitality. Foods rich in sugars and starchy foods such as rice, corn, bread, oatmeal gives our body an energy to keep us going in our daily works.

When I completed the food diary, I learned that I have to improve my diet in order to have a better health and avoid diseases that are caused by the food that one consume. Making a food diary really helps to take counts of what is being eaten and the nutrients that are consumed daily, since when one eats, most of the people do not think what are they really eating. Knowing what nutrients are consumed on a daily basis helps people know what they should improve to have a balanced diet. At the end of the food diary, I understood that I should start eating more fruits and vegetables to have a better diet. My family and I learned that having a balanced diet is not how many calories are consumed on a daily basis, but what nutrients and vitamins are consumed when
