Recommended: The graduate film analysis

Flipped is a movie about two teenagers. It starts when Bryce meets Juli when they are kids. The story follows their lives and the relationships that form and break through out their journey. This movie is particularly different because it shows both Juli and Bryce’s perspective on the events that happen. I find this movie very gripping and thrilling to watch, and also some scenes you want to strangle some characters for. I thought this film was spectacular because it shows both sides of the story and with some movies you are left wondering what is the other person thinking, and in this movie it answers that. There was one scene where Bryce it about to kiss Juli and you are wondering what Juli thinks about that, and you get to find out. You start to feel bad when soothing sad happens to either Bryce or Juli. In one scene Juli in in this sycamore tree that she feels super attached to, she even stays up there to try and save it, but her attempts fail and you start to feel sorry for her. When you got to see the view from the sycamore tree you feel some emotion too, the colours are very vibrant and beautiful, and seeing the sunrise makes you feel clam, until you hear the cutting of the tree and you start to get mad because they threaten to cut her down with the tree, and you want to smack them for talking to Juli like that. In some of the scenes you want to slap Bryce knowing that Juli is there but since he doesn’t know he makes things worse between them.     Once I get past all of the rambling I did in the past paragraphs, I honestly really enjoyed the book. Though it wasn't like most of the other books I’ve read (meaning I didn't cry during the process of reading it), the characters were just as provokingly interesting as the characters in other stories, it was a little edgy and made me want to yell at it, shouting at Sam when she wouldn’t let Tyler play video games with Danny, or Danny when he called to have Sam and Tyler taken to a separate facility. Overall, this book opened me up to something that just isn't a romance novel. Thornhill creates suspense with his mistaken identity and fight for his escape. The film uses a handful of shots, for example, medium shots, close ups, long shots and shot-reverse-shots.
