As per requested on March 5th from the recent display of employees showing up to work 30 minutes or more late on numerous different shifts and many employees calling out due to family and medical issues occurring. I have put together an analysis that represents my research on what flextime has to offer from the advantages to disadvantages of flextime here at Sports Co. Merchandisers.
Background of Company
• Private Contractor Company specializing in the merchandising of athletic brands such as Adidas, Nike, and Under Armor since 1962.
• Merchandisers work with local sporting goods stores such as Sports Authority and Dicks Sporting Goods.

• Company of only 200 employees in which all work hourly wages.
Flextime is having compressed work weeks in which employees can create their own work week by choosing their days and hours they wish to work. “Those working a condensed week may work four ten hour days, rather than five eight hour days.” (About Careers, 2015, para 1)

One of the main concerns with flextime and this disadvantage is difficulty demonstrating workload. (Flex Jobs, 2011, para. 9) Employees may not be able to show off what they are capable of accomplishing successfully, whether it be perfect merchandising at a fast past or getting larger projects done faster. This would be key into getting promotions and moving up in a company, thus making this slightly more difficult to do from the promoting manager’s perspective. Another disadvantage would be for other employees only having a few hours a day for collaborating with others if they are in need of advice or assistance on a project. (Hearst News Papers, 2015, para. 5) Another disadvantage to the employee is missing out on building friendships with work colleagues as you will not see them face to face as often. (Graduate Career Tips, 2012, para.
They manufacture and supply a diversity of products for sports like golf, softball, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf and much more.
Flextime - a versatile work program - permits individuals to determine on when they work, as long as they place in their total range of hours each week. Counting on the leader could mean complete freedom to style their work schedule, or having the ability to decide on from among many predetermined sets of choices. Two (or a lot of, though not sometimes the case,) workers could share one position, every worker operating some of the specified time. That way, individuals will hold, or still hold, the position they need, and still build time to play with young ones or aging oldsters, carry out of different family
One legitimate concern is the possibility of losing uncertified staff members such as bus drivers or cafeteria employees. Critics claim that with the decreased schedule these faculty members will not receive the proper amount of payment to support themselves and or their families. However, this claim, no matter how convincing it may seem, is actually quite refutable. One solution to this problem could be that with the savings acquired from reduced bill costs and all other reduced costs, the uncertified staff could receive adequate payment through these savings. Due to the fact that the days are longer, the uncertified staff members could only miss at the most, one or two hours. As a result of this solution, there is no need to fear issues concerning money with the four-day

Under Amour Company ventured into a market segment that was overcrowded, it had thousands of companies that competed against each other. Out of the many companies involved in the trade, the two most formidable threats seemed to be orchestrated by Nike and Adidas. These are two giant sports apparel and footwear, which pride themselves as having been long term veterans in the industry. Nike in particular was christened as the ultimate shoe and athletic apparel company with revenues of $18.6 billion, net income of $1.9 billion and more than thirty two thousand employees globally in the year 2008. This makes it the largest athletic shoe and apparel seller in the world. This company has seen major expansions in outlets throughout the world over the years. Adidas on its part has managed to build a powerful brand through its technological innovations and aggressive marketing where they spend up to thirteen per cent of their revenue besides offering high quality services. These scenarios seem to present Under Armour with a massive competitive disadvantage.
Its marketing executive Adrienne Lofton said: The brand considers itself an "underdog brand." We work with athletes who most people wouldn't
The clothing that Under Armor supplies is utilized by university and elite athletics groups and is sold in real games retail locations (Unger, 2013). In the workplace, time management is an important factor in everyone’s day-to-day work. If a person’s time is well managed, it is possible to achieve a greater amount in a shorter space of time. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Effective time management can have a hugely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mentality, giving a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and also their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritises their jobs at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all of the important jobs. However, if time is poorly managed it can lead to inefficiencies, work overload and added pressure, this could eventually lead on to other issues such as stress.
