As per requested on March 5th from the recent display of employees showing up to work 30 minutes or more late on numerous different shifts and many employees calling out due to family and medical issues occurring. I have put together an analysis that represents my research on what flextime has to offer from the advantages to disadvantages of flextime here at Sports Co. Merchandisers.

Background of Company
• Private Contractor Company specializing in the merchandising of athletic brands such as Adidas, Nike, and Under Armor since 1962.
• Merchandisers work with local sporting goods stores such as Sports Authority and Dicks Sporting Goods.
• Head quartered in Miami, Florida.
• Company of only 200 employees in which all work hourly wages.
Flextime is having compressed work weeks in which employees can create their own work week by choosing their days and hours they wish to work. “Those working a condensed week may work four ten hour days, rather than five eight hour days.” (About Careers, 2015, para 1)

One of the main concerns with flextime and this disadvantage is difficulty demonstrating workload. (Flex Jobs, 2011, para. 9) Employees may not be able to show off what they are capable of accomplishing successfully, whether it be perfect merchandising at a fast past or getting larger projects done faster. This would be key into getting promotions and moving up in a company, thus making this slightly more difficult to do from the promoting manager’s perspective. Another disadvantage would be for other employees only having a few hours a day for collaborating with others if they are in need of advice or assistance on a project.
