Flash Drives and Optical Storage
Flash drives and Optical Storage are quick and easy ways to transfer data, and with all the technology that has been introduced over the years, these have many uses. There compact, portable, and very useful in many situations. To help understand these two topics more in depth, I will be explaining what they are, how they are used, and many other details.
First, I will be explaining flash drives. Flash drives are a data storage device that includes flash memory with an integrated Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface (Wikipedia). It is also a type of memory that can be erased electronically and rewritten. Flash memory chips are a type of solid state media, which means they consist entirely of electronic components and contain no moving parts. Types of flash memory storage include solid state drives, memory cards, USB flash drives, and ExpressCard modules (Shelly and Vermaat COM 12). Flash drives are incredibly light and small (1 oz.) which makes it easy to store and carry. Even though flash drives are small, they can store a lot of data. Flash drives storage ranges from anywhere from one gigabyte to sixty-four gigabytes (Casey). USB flash drives are so popular today because they are faster, easier to use, and more convenient than almost any other method. Burning CDs takes time, and is a permanent process. If you’re taking a project from your office to your home, and you’re going to be finished with it at the end of the week, burning a CD just for that can be wasteful. If you make changes to the project, you have to burn a whole new CD in order to take it back to work. If you’re storing important information about your job, or valuable copyrighted files if you are a creative person, many USB flash dri...

Have you ever experienced an event that was so significant to you that you felt as if your memory was taking a photograph, keeping the memory implanted in your brain for the rest of your life? This is a prime example of flashbulb memory. Flashbulb memory is a term that pertains to a person’s memory of hearing about extremely shocking events (Goldstein, 2011, p. 209). Flashbulb memory is not the memory for the event itself, but it’s the memory of how the person heard about the specific event (Goldstein, 2011, p. 209). This means that a flashbulb memory includes where you were and what you were doing when you found out about a tragic event (Goldstein, 2011, p. 209). Some key attributes of flashbulb memories are that they are both remembered for long periods of time and are exceedingly vivid (Goldstein, 2011, p. 209). A great way to describe flashbulb memories is to compare them to a photo that never fades, proving how relevant these memories are to those who have them (Goldstein, 2011, p. 209).
...rd drives. The Flash memory storage is significantly smaller, has no moving parts and starts up immediately. Because these chips have a smaller storage capacity and cost more than traditional hard drives, it’s a great short term growth opportunity for Apple to do something about it. As far as long term growth for Apple, how about an iTV? There have been rumors of one in the works, but with the 2013 Christmas season in the past, the tech industry is anxiously awaiting for any sign of this becoming reality.

Flashbulb memory is when a person learns or experiences a very surprising and emotional arousing events (Matlin, 155). As it is a long lasting memory that people report vivid details about a traumatic event, it has been the subjects of recent scientific studies. Recent findings have mentioned a relationship between flashbulb memory and the September 11, 2001 attack. An article published in the American Psychological Association entitled “Seared in Our Memories” written by Bridget Murray Law analyzes different studies on the topic to explore how accurate people vividly remember about the 9/11 attack, and on how much is accurate or fabricated through various encounters. After reading the article, Law mentions interesting researchers concluding
The information gathered in this report will show the methodology and tools used to forensically examine any files or images stored in relation to the investigation claim of Bobby Joe. While the examination is being conducted I will show how the chain of custody of evidence is kept, what evidence was discovered in the file image, and identify and examine the devices used. It will also show what steps Bobby Joe took to store information on the claim against him. The results of this investigation will then be used to determine if any offences he may have committed according to the State laws. The report will also provide a summary of the information for a jury to examine and understand. USB flash drive without any security function causes
USB ports are developed to connect keyboard, mouse, printer and many other devices to the PC. They are developed in mid1990’s and gains a tremendous success because no additional knowledge is required to install the devices. USB ports not only communicate between devices and computer but it can also supply electric power to the devices. USB ports are not only limited to computers but it can also be seen mobile phones and video games consoles. USB ports has undergone a lot of advancement since its development in 90’s. It is now available in three different speeds. They are best known for plug and play in the 20th century. It can be attached and detach from the pc without switching it off. They are standardized by group

On Tuesday, September 11th, 2001: time stood still for citizens throughout America. Individuals who are old enough, generally have a flashbulb (vivid) memory of 9/11, consisting of where they were, who they were with, and what they were doing at that precise moment. In the song, Where Were You When The World Stop Turning by Alan Jackson, Jackson is singing regretfully about that flashbulb memory. Through the entirety of the song, Jackson’s voice sounds defeated and shocked but hopeful and blessed. Unity and love is the meaning behind Jackson’s song.
The human mind has an extraordinary capacity for storing multiple different types of memories, whether they are sensory, short-term, or long-term as proposed by the Atkinson-Shriffin Multi-Store Model of Memory. Within the category of long-term memories, the brain may store procedural, semantic, or episodic memories related to specific events. Certain events are more memorable than others for a combination of these reasons, but events that are truly more salient than others are typically emotional events that leave a lasting impact. Interestingly, many individuals find that their memories for when they heard about major emotional events, like assassinations and September 11th, are extremely vibrant, and they believe their accounts for hearing about these events are true depictions.
I am a 90s kid and before we had USB flash drives there were CDs and floppy disks, although my 13-year-old cousin probably does not know what either of those are. USB flash drives are commonly used for the same reasons CDs and floppy disks were used for. They all store information, back up that information, as well as transfer the information and other files to a computer. The biggest difference is that USB flash drives is that they are much smaller, faster, and they carrying capacity size is over a thousands times more than its predecessors. They are also much more durable and reliable because they are singular-bodied device that is built reliably with no moving parts, rarely. Amir Ban, Dov Moran, and Oran Ogdan invented the USB flash drive. They were first manufactured in 1998 by the Israeli company M-Systems and patented in 1999. USB flash drives usually range from two gigabytes to over 250 gigabytes and come in a variety of styles, shapes, colors and other novelty designs. Most USB flash drives are manufactured in China, Taiwan, Japan, and/or Korea.

...P, 2005, p 23) Around 2005 cell phones and PDAs were referred to as Swiss army knives of gadgets due to the fact they had many functions in one device. All the big phone companies at the time were premiering phones with more mp3 storage than mp3 player, essentially foreshadowing the future. (Dempsey, P, 2005, pg. 23)An average smart phone in the year 2014 can hold around 8-16 gigabytes of data, and if storage is allotted correctly, the phone can hold thousands of mp3s. Any mp3 player trying to have a foothold in the consumer market cannot compete with a device that is an essential part of an average person’s daily life, and a music player. “Smartphones with increasingly high-quality audio and video capabilities have become popular and therefore hamper demand for products in the Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing industry.” (Krabeepetcharat, T. 2013. p. 8)
