Finding Attention Depicted In The Story 'Terrible Things'

There are many reasons that cause people do bad things: many people do not want to draw the attention to themselves, often it is easier to follow the crowd, and sometimes people find themselves caught in a tradition. Supporting racist beliefs and the treatment of others can help citizens accept it.

The Main idea of the story “Terrible Things” is when something happens many people do not want to draw attention to themselves. In the story, the Terrible things wanted animals with feathers and all the animals without feathers said not me and showed them. Another reason why people did not want to draw attention to themselves is that in the story, it also says the terrible things wanted animals with bushy tails and all the other animals without

the bushy tail said not me.

“Adolf Hitler” is a biography about him killing over 6 million people. In the story, Adolf Hitler was awarded for his bravery and he was remembered the war as the greatest of all experiences. Also in the story, he started a political party and then he started WW2 because he thought the treaty was unfair to Germany. He thought white, blond Germans were genetically superior to anyone else. He hated the Jews so he wanted all the jews and all the people that is not white and blond to be killed. This all started because of him and other people were following.

In the Lottery, people found themselves caught in a tradition. They have a tradition that they don’t remember. They only remember to use stones. In the story, the people use these white pieces of paper and fold them up. One of the pieces of paper have a black dot in it. Who ever gets it, gets stoned. In this case, Tessie Hutchinson gets the black paper and she keeps saying this is not fair. People should not go in a tradition blindly. Also in this story, they believe that if they stop that they won’t have a good harvest,so if they don’t stop they would have a good harvest.

In conclusion, many people do bad thing like killing 6 million people. Supporting racist beliefs and the treatment to help others like in Terrible Things. It would have been better if the animals would have stood up and knocked them down, but they didn’t do that and all the animals died
