Introduction (My Sport) My name is Marc and my favorite sport is football. Football is one of the most physical and diligent sports but also at the same time fun and enjoyable. In football I play at a semi pro level in the role of a box to box centre midfielder also known as the outlet. To play this role, you need to have vision, physical strength and good awareness of your surroundings. This role is one of the most important roles on the field as you are one of the middle men on the pitch. In order to play in this position you need to have really good composure on and off the ball as there are loads of eyes on you. In football, there are rules that some people might not know and one of these is the offside rule. The offside rule mandates …show more content…
Arousal is the physical and mental (physiological & psychological) state of alertness varying from deep sleep to intense excitement/ alertness. In football, my arousal level shows how focused and alert I am during the game. In all sports there is a perfect level of arousal and that is called the optimal point. The optimal point is a level of mental stimulation at which physical performance, learning, or temporary feelings of wellbeing are maximised. The optimal arousal level is shown in the inverted U theory below. With my weakness being my strength I believe when going in for challenges I feel I'm over aroused which leads to me being too aggressive and not being able to focus leading to me fouling the player or not successfully tackling them. By working on how to control my arousal, I think I can improve my performance by being able to use my strength the appropriate way. Two ways i'm going to do this is: Deep breathing Listen to music before games. Deep breathing involves taking slow, deep breaths so that the body can relax. During a game of football, as I play the role of centre midfield, I am involved in a lot of plays, however when I am not I will aim to control my arousal by taking deep breaths to calm me
Reconstruction was a nasty period in History. Reconstruction took place after the civil war. In the civil war there was lots of devastation. Buildings and houses were being destroyed so people needed something called Reconstruction. Reconstruction was something people really needed after the civil war because they needed to rebuild a community. Some people didn't want reconstruction because they liked destruction. Then also after the civil war slavery was abolished, as well some people don't like that either. South killed Reconstruction because South resistance had KKK, and South was murdering people.

Another inspiring women abolitionist in the 18th century, Jarena Lee, produced The Life and Religious Experiences of Jarena Lee, which is a women’s spiritual autobiography. Lee believed God called her to preach, despite the impropriety of women preachers due to the time period. Lee experienced hostility and prejudice as she traveled and spread the word of the Gospel, but continued to fight for her devotion to faith with the intention of fulfilling her calling from God. In The Life and Religious Experiences of Jarena Lee, Lee formats her text as a sermon and associated her qualifications with her production of a religious service in order to convince her audience of her abilities. Also, Lee associates herself with male ministers because of shared characteristics and experiences.

In Democracy and Education, John Dewey, described as the father of experience-derived education, gave his opinion of how democracy and education should interact in order to create a sound democratic society. He wrote of how a democracy cannot flourish if education is tuned for the masses or if only a select few can get higher education. He also discussed how the “three R’s” (reading, writing, and arithmetic) are faulty, and how the curriculum must help students develop the ability to tackle social issues in the “real world.” However, high schools today are not preparing citizens to achieve Dewey’s vision; rather, they are moving farther away from it.
Hours before a match, athletes in all corners of the world tend to freak out due to all the psychological factors that accompany performance in sports. Stop for a quick second and imagine becoming a Manchester United Striker or a Denver Broncos Wide-Receiver. For those who did not know already, these two positions are among the hardest in the sports world to play. Not only must the person assigned to these positions stay up until the early hours of the morning studying plays and formations so they might better assist their team come match day, but they also act as the main way the teams they play for get any points. If the expectation of being the team’s top scorers isn’t enough, they must also act as an inspiration to every other teammate that plays alongside them. Even though most people say psychological factors have no effect on an athlete’s performance in sport, athletes are negatively affected by the psychological aspects because of pre-game jitters they may experience, the relationship each athlete has with the stadium crowd, and the toll each match has on the athletes’ bodies.
Despite the world being full of diverse people with varying accomplishments and skill sets, people oftentimes assume the qualities and traits of an individual based purely on the stereotypes set forth by society. Although these stereotypes are unavoidable, an individual can be liberated, empowered and ultimately overcome these stereotypes by obtaining an advanced education.
Shaun Calluarman’s argument with Chris McCandless shares the real life perspective of how his lifestyle was the cause of his death. Shaun stated that Chris had no business and no common sense going into the Alaskan wilderness. For Chris, unprepared, no family, and no home wasn’t going to survive outside with nothing to him. We can see it coming as the story builds up until he finally is able to get to Alaska. Shaun thinks Chris is arrogant, reckless, and crazy.
Television has affected every aspect of life in society, radically changing the way individuals live and interact with the world. However, change is not always for the better, especially the influence of television on political campaigns towards presidency. Since the 1960s, presidential elections in the United States were greatly impacted by television, yet the impact has not been positive. Television allowed the public to have more access to information and gained reassurance to which candidate they chose to vote for. However, the media failed to recognize the importance of elections. Candidates became image based rather than issue based using a “celebrity system” to concern the public with subjects regarding debates (Hart and Trice). Due to “hyperfamiliarity” television turned numerous people away from being interested in debates between candidates (Hart and Trice). Although television had the ability to reach a greater number of people than it did before the Nixon/Kennedy debate, it shortened the attention span of the public, which made the overall process of elections unfair, due to the emphasis on image rather than issue.
Anxiety is undoubtedly an issue that affects almost all athletes. This research will provide insight into why athletes perform best at varying levels of anxiety, and also intends to contribute valuable information about which of these levels translates into the best performance. Knowledge of this study will no doubt aid in the progression of anxiety research, and also will provide valuable information to athletes about the effects of anxiety, more specifically that anxiety does not always have to translate to poor performance.
Arousal in sport can be defined as the degree of activation (both physiological and psychological) that an individual experiences when faced with a sporting situation or task. It can be viewed as a continuum ranging from drowsiness/sleep to a psyched-up, hyperactive state. Moderating arousal levels can help to control stress and anxiety (Study.com, 2017). Arousal levels affect performance negatively and positively. The Inverted U model shows the relationship between performance and arousal. This model is specific to the individual, and specific to the task (The Arousal Theory of Motivation, 2017) Ideal performance state or ‘the zone’. Arousal affects performance due to, muscle tension and coordination difficulties with excessive arousal.

Living in country like Vietnam, soccer is the king of sport. That is why it is not surprising that my childhood has grown up with the soccer’s ball until today. My mom told me that I liked kicking the ball around and had so much fun with it when I was only about two years old. Since then, playing soccer is my favorite’s sport and it is my hobby whenever I have free time. It is interesting and amazing, especially the feeling when I score a goal or my teammates do it. That feeling fulfills in me like I have just archived something very important. Playing soccer also helps me to relax and be confident when I have stress and frustration. For instant, after doing assignment or studying all day long, I feel tired and exhausted. However, having fun with the ball such as kicking it against the wall or trying to do some tricks, all of my tiresome and exhaustion die out.
