Maria’s courageous behavior continues on the flight to New York City, and this even helps others. To be more specific, she flies to New York with her friend Blanca, who has also been recruited as a drug mule, and Lucy, who has made the dangerous journey before. The journey to New York City was full of fear. Maria had to be disturbed due to the inflated stomach and could not stop sweating on her forehead. She even had to sallow several pellets again after she excreted some pellets before arriving on New York. The film shows how disgusting and hard it was by showing how hard she immediately clean and re-ingested them in the restroom. Thus, her journey to New York was full of fear and difficulties that she had to overcome. But, she shows courage

The Lady From Shanghai is a timeless film that captures how a black and white film can be interesting for viewers. The overall film was effective with the help of the mise en scene, cinematography and editing. Each of the three parts put together brought out the complexity and intensity of this film and they made The Lady From Shanghai the classic film that it is today.
Although, it is a relief that Mariatu was lucky enough to have her family with her through most of her journey, she depended on them far too much. It seemed as though whenever they were gone her emotions became overwhelmingly unstable. She trusted people she should not have, because that was the nature of family and how people were on...
The movie, “The Perfect Dictatorship” (“La Dictadura Perfecta”), directed and produced by Luis Estrada and released in 2014, is a political, satirical comedy story of two reporters attempting to repair the image of a corrupt governor after he signs a deal with the boss of their television company, Television Mexicana. That’s one way we could describe the plot of the movie. Another would be that the movie depicts the inherent corruption of the Mexican government and the lengths to which they will go to retain (or regain) their reputation. Equally, we could see the movie as a demonstration of the corruption of the Mexican media and the ways in which the media influences and effects politics. In fact, the
Chinatown is regarded by many as one of the best films ever created. In 2007, The American Film Institute named “Chinatown” as #21 on their list of 100 greatest films! Chinatown is a great film because it is able to show how far people are willing to go to obtain riches and how a detective is willing to go to great lengths to solve the mysteries in front of him. The movie has been talked about in abundance and has even been influenced by real life events from the water company in Los Angeles. It is closely related to corruption and the 1% which people still talk about till this day. In the movie “Chinatown” directed by Roman Polanski, a private detective hired to expose an adulterer finds that he is caught up in a web of deceit, corruption, and murder. Somewhat relating to this is the article “Of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%” written by Joseph E. Stiglitz. In the article Stiglitz writes about how democracy in America is a mirage and that the rich
This 1950's theatrical presentation was directed by Elia Kazan and written by Tennessee Williams. It is about a southern bell by the name of Blanche Dubois who loses her father's plantation to a mortgage and travels to live in her sister's home in New Orleans by means of a streetcar called Desire. There she finds her sister living in a mess with a drunken bully husband, and the events that follow cause Blanche to step over the line of insanity and fall victim to life's harsh lessons.
Some of the areas that Maria would like to address are marital concerns (the romance, hanging out with people other than her husband’s coworkers, communication, spend more time doing outdoor activities), concerns regarding pleasing her parents even during adulthood (the guilt she feels about her parents making sacrifices to send her to the United States to obtain her college degree), and the pressure of her religious background (being Catholic and feeling that she could not divorce her husband, even if she wanted).
She had an abortion. Her daughter is taken away from her. She divorced carter. Her mother was killed or committed suicide on the road. She participated in BZ’s suicide but not helping him. Her career is on the verge of collapse if not already collapsed. She is in the mental health hospital. Maria has lost everything. As Tyler Durden, from the movie Fight Club says: “It 's only after we 've lost everything that we 're free to do anything (Fight Club CITE). Maria is in a position to reclaim her life because she does not owe anything to anybody anymore. A great example of hitting bottom and coming back is a success story of J.K Rowling, the author of Harry Potter Series. She recalls "An exceptionally short-lived marriage had imploded, and I was jobless, a lone parent, and as poor as it is possible to be in modern Britain, without being homeless ... By every usual standard, I was the biggest failure I knew" (Gillett). Yet she carried on and kept writing Harry Potter and chasing her dream and she ended up as the most successful writer of the modern era. She was laser-focused on her goals. That is a great example for Maria to follow. “Aside from being a good mother, her (J.K Rowling) goal was to get Harry Potter published. That’s it” (Roberston). Maria’s two goals could be rebuilding her life and getting Kate
On Saturday July 29th, 2017, I was able to catch one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while, Girls Trip. I was able to view the movie with four of three of friends of mines at the Regal Moorestown Mall Stadium 12 & RPX, located in Moorestown, New Jersey. My experience started with the aromas of popcorn. I am one of those type who has to have popcorn with lots of butter while enjoying a movie. After I purchased my popcorn and bottled water I was ready to enjoy this night with my friends. However, I wasn’t the one who purchased the tickets so the seats choices where horrible. They were floor level, on the very far right and third row. Still trying to make the best out of it I reclined my see as far back as possible so my neck would bother me the during the movie. The theater was packed, mostly with women.
Fear, more specifically the fear of rejection, is an emotional response that has affected many people at some point in their lifetime. Most individuals typically overcome such feelings with blind hope, while others seem to get lost in translation. Like mentioned before, most get over their anxiety, but what is it like for the people that can’t seem to shake of the frightening feeling of being rejected? The short film, “The Truth About Meeting Women”, written by Paul Gale and directed by T.J. Misny, takes the audience on a comedic journey through the mind of a shy man as tries to avoid talking to the beautiful women that surrounds him. Overall, this short film is truly masterpiece because of the relatable main character and the actually humorous storyline.
New York. Towards the end of the clip tension is built up by the music

The movie, “Mona Lisa Smile” is an inspirational film that explores life through feminism, marriage, and education lead by a modernist teacher at the end of a traditional era. It begins by introducing the lead character, Katherine Watson (Julia Roberts), a liberal-minded novice professor from California, who lands a job in the art history department at a snobbish, all-girl college, called Wellesley, in the fall of 1953. Despite warnings from her boyfriend Paul that a Boston Brahmin environment was out of her element, Katherine was thrilled at the prospect of educating some of the brightest young women in the country however, her image of Wellesley quickly fizzles after her first day of class, in which, was more like a baptism by fire. Her smug students flaunted their exhaustive knowledge of the text and humiliated her in front of a supervisor. However, Katherine, determined not to buckle under pressure, departs from the syllabus in order to regain the upper hand. She quickly challenged the girls’ idea of what constituted art and exposed them to modern artist not endorsed by the school board. She dared them to think for themselves, and explore outside of their traditional views. This form of art was unacceptable by the students at first however, overtime Katherine penetrated her student’s distain and earned their esteem.
Gone Girl, an American thriller film released in 2014, is about the story of Nick, the husband, who became the primary suspect in the murder of his wife, Amy. It ended up that Amy is revealed to be alive, and apparently, she is the one who had faked everything. It seems like a typical thriller film; however, there are a lot going on beneath the surface plot involved in the heterosexual imaginary.
