Recommended: Romeo and Juliet

In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, two people are searching for their true love and cannot find the right person. They are currently paired with someone that isn’t their perfect match and both long for the right person to come and find them. Fate draws these star-crossed lovers to each other and later draws them into trouble with family and friends. The two show true love at first sight as shown in the following quote, “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night, like a rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear.” (1. 5. 49-51).
Throughout this story, there are many ways fate changes the outcome of this story. Fate is how a story or life, for example turns out the way it does. Fate is the growth and joining of events in a story or in life that are not controllable by the person. Fate is the biggest driving force in this story because the characters do some crazy actions that they later regret or wish they would have done differently. The story revolves around fate because no one can control their life and the things that happen, all happen for a reason.
Romeo and Juliet are two lovers that are both searching for their perfect match when they arrive at the Capulet Ball. The Capulets are Juliet’s family and Romeo’s family is the Montague's. Both families have had a large, hateful relationship and have tried to steer away from each other because if one even looks the wrong way at the other they would start a huge fight. Romeo never wanted to go to the ball because he was sad that his love, Rosaline, wouldn’t return his love. His friend, Mercutio, was very stubborn and knew that Romeo would have a good time so he wouldn’t leave Romeo to be by himself.

...s out and tells Romeo to his face. “Love moderately” (2. 5. 9) are the two words of advice he gives him and ends there because he knows that those two words are very powerful. He could tell that there was going to be something bad happening. Fate was huge here because he saw what they were thinking and needed to stop them, but their decisions were the death of them in the end.
Two lovers were once happily married until fate struck. Fate can be good or bad and in this story, it turned out to be bad. It started off with two finding each other and teens being teens couldn’t control their love and it in turn controlled them. Fate drew these star-crossed lovers to each other and later drew them into trouble with their family and friends. No matter what, they would be happy and wouldn’t regret any of their decisions because of their immense love for each other.

Even the townspeople were involved in the dispute, because the families were always fighting in the streets and causing disturbances. They disrupted the streets of Verona and even Prince Escalus tried to break up the fighting. They were given a warning, by him that another public fight would result in death. While this was occurring, Romeo, (a Montague) the main character, was getting over his last love, Rosaline, and was very upset. Juliet of the Capulet household had just been introduced to a wealthy young man, Paris, whom her parents wished her to marry. Yet she did not love him. Romeo goes to a party in an effort to forget about Rosaline. At this party he met Juliet, and immediately fell in love with her. Tybalt killed Mercutio, which caused Romeo to kill Tybalt in an angry rage. For this, Romeo is banished from Verona. At the same time, the Capulet's were planning Juliet's marriage to Paris. Juliet didn't want to marry this man so she arranges with Friar Lawrence to fake her own death with a sleeping potion that would make everyone think that she was dead. Friar Lawrence promised to send word to Romeo to meet her when the potion wears off and to rescue her to Mantua, where Romeo was currently staying. There they would live happily ever after. Unfortunately, Romeo didn't receive the message on time and upon hearing of her "death" went to Juliet's tomb where he drinks poison and dies. When Juliet's potion wears off, she wakes to find her lover's dead corpse. She then proceeds to stab herself with Romeo's dagger. The two families find the bodies and with their shared sorrow, finally make peace with each other.
