The 1930’s was a difficult time for American history. Despite the difficult times the fashion industry still bloomed in many different ways. Fashion in the 1930’s was significantly different from fashion in the 2000’s. First of all, jewelry has changed since the 1930’s incredibly. For example, in the 1930’s there were “Mughal-inspired necklaces of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds” (Vincent). Also, a rich, independent, and mean woman named daisy, had “a collection of gems from India, emerald-fringed diamond handcuffs, and naturalistic diamond leaves” (Vincent). Lastly, Celebrities were known to wear “fashionable plastics, whether it was jewelry or hair combs” (Wegner). Jewelry has changed since the 1930’s because handcuffs does not have diamonds
