Doing a lot of research considers most of the consumer’s feeling and how they’ll react to a product when buying an outfit. What I mean by this is that when starting a fashion brand, I’d probably want to consider how I want to market my fashion brand. Is it towards teenagers? Adults? Or kids? In addition, it also have to do a lot with social media marketing too, which “….are entertainment, interaction, trendiness, customization, and word of mouth.”(Kim & Ko, Social Media Marketing) It’s mainly about what I as a fashion designer think of my consumer and what they’ll want from my designer collection. As it is said, “Contributors use multiple methods to analyze consumers ' psychosocial needs and the extent that their fulfillment goes beyond the usefulness or value of the items they purchase as well as the fashion industry 's means of communicating brand identity and enhancing brand loyalty.”(Choi, Fashion Branding) As any other fashion designer, I would want to study and research on my consumer’s wants and needs in the fashion world. However, when looking to create a luxury brand, one must go beyond what is required of an ordinary brand, to create something of high value and therefore high prices. So instead of just having brand values, it should have brand beliefs, as this will create a stronger emotional connection with its customers. It should aim to go beyond having a logo, but rather a set of distinguishable icons and the brand’s points of sale needs to be somewhere that connects with its customers and becomes something of a pantheon among other retail outlets. In 1968, he founded the company Polo Fashions, a company that would later expand its market, and is among one of the top designer brands in the world today.
Fashion is a form people use as a way for self expression. For me, fashion dictates how a person sense of style is; some may be bold and loud or simple and calm in which it also gives others an outlook on how their character may be. Although fashion is a way to express ones’ sense of style it does not tells us who the person is personally. Fashion in the society of the 1900s has changed female gender roles then and now by the way their roles changed during the time.
