Faking It Faking it is a changeable battle against the odds. The yet to be faker is picked out from their ordinary environment and given four weeks to master a skill well enough to fool a group of expert judges. In this essay I am focusing on series four of “faking it”. It involves a man named George Lubega who is a solicitor. He lives around and socialises with white people. His task was to behave and fake it as a Mc that comes from the streets mainly involved around black people. Faking it is mainly a reality TV show but can be similar to a documentary. Although the documentaries may have changed its shape and form over the years it still follows the same criteria. The way “faking it” was …show more content…
I can tell that these two lifestyles are very different. Mc creed is one of the big Mc in London and has been one for many years. To turn George into a mc in a couple of weeks was going to be a real challenge. George enters Mc creed rooms where he is with 2 friends. As George entered the room all their attention turned to him. The shot switched to a close up shot of Georges face to show how embarrassed he was because he was wearing a suit. After this Mc creed got a chance to talk to George one on one. Mc creed asked George what kind of music he liked. George said he liked classical music. I don’t think that Mc creed actually understood that he lived a different lifestyle from George because he started laughing at him. This made George more embarrassed. At the sight of this it makes the audience feel sorry for George and feel sympathy for him. This makes the audience feel how it is to be in his shoes. In the middle of the show the “pay as you go cartel”, met with George to give him a different style so he could adapt to being a mc. …show more content…
George was dressed in iceberg clothing (ice berg is a name brand clothing that is very expensive) to show that just because he was an Mc it didn’t mean he didn’t have the money. This illustrates the difference between many jobs. Mc creeds job is just being an Mc and producing music. George’s job is a corporate lawyer. This makes George feel a bit awkward because he isn’t used to the clothes that are bought for him. This shows that to him stereotype is very important. After George passed his tasks it was then time for him to return home. After 1 week he was shown again going into his house with trainers and a hat and he came out with a suit and black work boots. This suggests that even though he had changed for a few weeks he has learned many things from the role of being a Mc but he is still the same person and will always go back to his normal ways. “Faking it” has a sponsor advert, which is Smirnoff ice. When I first saw it at the beginning I didn’t know what it meant but now I do. The advert showed a glass with ice in it and orange juice being poured into it then taken out again. This showed that even though he was
Teenagers often act on impulses. Teenagers are still young and in between the adult and tenn stage. This often leaves teenagers emotions and acts to but unpridicatble and to fir them to act on impulse.
To be called a phony is to be called fake, something that no one wants to be recognized as. Throughout one’s life it is inevitable that one will meet a person who fits the criteria of a phony, which is generally one person’s idea, rather than a set definition. Some base phoniness off of certain actions and behaviors, such as hypocrisy and frequently lying, although for others it is pushed to the extreme, in which phoniness, can be found in everyone, through any action. As for Holden Caulfield, a seventeen year old boy who is thrust into adulthood, after being kicked out of Pencey Prep School in Pennsylvania, and decides to stay in New York City for a few days before going home, he finds himself surrounded by phonies. Holden is able to call people out on their phoniness, after knowing how it feels to be genuinely cared for by people he loves. Though pointing out other’s phoniness has become an automatic reaction after meeting new people, although one can see that there are characteristics of Holden that fit his personalized criteria of a phony. However, through the novel, it seems the author does not intend for all of Holden’s claims of phoniness to be taken seriously, as out of all of the people he has met, only a few are seen as genuine. In J.D. Salinger’s “The Catcher in the Rye”, the novel’s protagonist, Holden Caulfield, by being forced to grow up, has become extremely judgemental of others, and while he calls other’s phonies, he himself is one.
Macbeth uses deception and lies to become king from killing Duncan to killing his “friend” Banquo. Lady Macbeth is not much better. She also deceives Duncan when he comes to stay in their castle. She later tries self-deception to rid her of some of the heavy guilt she is feeling. The witches use deception with Macbeth, toying with his life. Their false prophecies eventually leave Macbeth unprepared and lead to his downfall. While many different strategies are used in this play by Shakespeare to get Macbeth the kingship, deceit is the most prominent and important in the entire play.

Researchers, authors and other scholars have advanced research on general life construct of children. There is profound evidence that pretend play relates to coping and well-being. All the three aspects are vital for children cognitive development and overall well-being. What is pretend play? What is coping and subjective wellbeing? These are psychological jargons, positively related. They are multidimensional and similar processes occur in both Russ, 2004). For clear comprehension, there is need to note the dimensional meaning of coping skills, divergent thinking, pretend play, subjective well-being and cognitive development.

Anxiety has a main definition; a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease. Although, it has its single definition, each person diagnosed with anxiety has different symptoms. With that, some have more severe cases of the actual diagnosis. It has been noted that anxiety has had an increase in teens recently. In the last 30 years, the statistics for anxiety in fifteen to sixteen year olds have doubled for both girls and boys (“Increased Levels of Anxiety…” 1). It is said, “in societal moments like the one we are in…it often feels as if ours is the Age of Anxiety”(Henig 1). Anxiety affects teenagers profusely because the emotions of a teenager are more vulnerable than those of an adult. The brain of a teenager is not fully developed and the stress put on teenagers to start putting their life together takes a toll on their emotions. The daily life and activities are interfered with by anxiety when the amount of stress put on a teenager becomes unbearable. Unfortunately, the effects of anxiety become so intense that the mental health is eventually toyed with. So many different components of life contribute to anxiety and cannot be prevented.
That is understandable because in the early years becoming an adult meant turning of age, 18, getting a job, moving out and starting your own family, but now turning 18 doesn’t mean you automatically are an adult and can move out and start your own life, I have friends that went to college, have a job but still are not able to move out on their own even in their twenties. Parents of the individuals in Generation Y are, according to Rosie Evans (n.d.), “subconsciously trying to cover up their guilt over the state of the economy by lifting their children’s financial burdens.” Our social lives in some ways are very positive and many of us can balance a good social life. On the other hand, some of us don’t have a very good balance and our social lives can come from our families, education, and finances. The Millennial generation is very dependent on social media, and what society says is “in,” this is because that’s mostly all we know, growing up in a time where technology is a main part of society.
