Faith Baptist Church Visit I decided to go to a church for my site visit. I went to the Faith Baptist Church on 26305 Ford Road. I always wanted to visit a church because I always wanted to see how it is at a church. I was really amazed by this site visit. When I first walked in; I felt a sense of spirituality as I entered the church. First, as I walked through the doors I shook hands with the ushers and greeters. They were extremely friendly, and they all had a smile on their faces. They also gave me a brochure about the church and its activities. The brochure was something very new to me. I was really confused on what the ushers would do because usually ushers are people who seat others. However, I seated myself. They did go around with baskets and collected envelopes. I wasn’t sure about what they were collecting, but then I saw an envelope next to the hymn books. I picked one up and saw it was a donation slip. It differs from how mosques collect money because we just put in the cash in the basket without the envelope. I felt the Christian way was better because it was more private. Finally, the sermon started. The pastor was speaking very low and I couldn’t fully understand what he was saying. I noticed that the pastor wasn’t looking up and felt like he was reading off a script. He wasn’t enthusiastic and was very dull. However, I did understand a couple of things he was saying. He was talking about always having a partner and how it helps make you a better person. He also talked about stories from the Bible because I heard similar stories from the Quran. I liked the sermon, but I did not like how he presented it. When the sermon ended, I started to walk out and everyone was extremely friendly. The environment felt warm and loving and I really enjoyed it. As I started to leave, I met someone named Aaron Bridgeman. He was very friendly and he allowed me to interview
