Summertime is the best time to enjoy campouts, cookouts, and gatherings. When cooking out it is important to incorporate fresh healthy seasonal foods. It is important for kids to eat healthy even when relaxing and camping. There are many different ways to incorporate healthy ingredients and meals into their outdoor experience without sacrificing any of the fun. The following suggestions, tricks, and tips will keep your kids fully fueled throughout the day while creating lasting family bonds, traditions, and memories.

Before the Campfire
Before the trip there are steps that can be taken to make the experience a completely enjoyable one. This includes such things as:

Fruits such as pineapple, banana, watermellon and strawberries contain natrual sugars which create their own sweetness when grilling.
