Fact 3: Swansea was founded in 1099 when a Norman castle was built as
an outpost of William the Conqueror’s Empire. A small settlement grew
near the coalfields and the sea. Eventually, the area developed into a
mining and shipbuilding center. By 1700, it was the largest coal port

“Okefenokee is the swamp archetypal, the swamp of legend of racial memory of Hollywood.” There are two passages written about the Okefenokee swamp. Passage one is just a statement of facts. The author is providing information that one would find in the encyclopedia. Passage two creates an image for the swamp. The author creates vivid details and express the author’s feelings. Both passages have information in their passages, but passage one does it in a very plain manner while passage two creates a poetic image about the swamp.
Echo Park, one of Los Angeles’s most well-known neighborhoods, was once associated with gang violence in the 80’s and 90’s. The crime rate in the area was to the point that many people would not dare being caught walking out after dark. Nowadays, people do not fear walking in the streets of Echo Park after dark. This new sense of safety in Echo park can be contributed to its nightlife scene characterized by Indie music venues and trendy bars. You may ask yourself how this change came about?

The St.Lawerence Lowlands region consists of two parts St.Lawerence Lowlands and great lakes. The parts are separated by a thin wedge of the Canadian Shield, this thin wedge is just across the St.Lawerence river and extends to the United States near Kingston Ontario. These Lowlands have bedrock formed of sedimentary rock, the bedrock can be seen in several escarpments in the Great Lakes Lowlands. The best known is the Niagara escarpment which extends from Niagara to Manitoulin Island, the Great Lakes landscape is characterized by flat plains with glacial hills and deep rivers and valleys. The Lowlands was formed by faulting which caused a rift valley, the valley was flooded with water close to the end of the last ice age by part of the Atlantic

Many of the Chesapeake Bay’s inhabitants are unaware of the destruction they are triggering. The Chesapeake Bay is a local estuary in the watershed near our home in Loudoun County Virginia. With its monumental size, various problems occurring are anticipated. Pollution is the leading factor in this great body of water’s downfall. Without proper control being taken, this neighboring site of leisure, food resource, and tourist income will suffer and continue to decline. The cleanliness of the Chesapeake Bay is declining over time causing harm to many species that call the Bay their home.
The Chesapeake bay is a home to millions of people and animals. The Chesapeake Bay holds more than 15 trillion gallons of water, also supports 348 species of finfish and 173 species of shellfish, and produces more than 500 million pounds of seafood harvest each year. The Chesapeake Bay watershed spans more than 64,000 square miles.Watersheds are sometimes called “basins” or “drainage basins, home to over 17 million people. The Chesapeake Bay is 165759.24 in square km’. The Age of Exploration was the time for many great discoveries to rise. There was a great amount of growth for the Europeans as well. At this time period, there was a great deal of decline for the Native American people. Some of these European explorers tried to help others as well as themselves along the journey. Other Europeans helped themselves while making others suffer for their lives. A person who can be described as this is Hernando Cortes. Cortes was born around 1485 at Medellin, Spain. He is mainly known for defeating the Aztec empire and claiming Mexico for Spain. Although he claimed a piece of land for Spain, I believe that Cortes does not deserve to be called a great leader. He destroyed the Aztec civilization and wiped out mostly all the Aztec people. Not only that, Cortes used many people and as well as the Aztecs to gain more power. Killing the people and ending a powerful civilization during the age of exploration does not make Hernando Cortes a “great” leader.
Over the weekend, I chose to travel to Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook as my area of research, since I have never been there despite living in northeast Los Angeles almost my entire life. Upon arriving at Baldwin Hills, the first topographic and natural elements I noticed was the area was covered in grassland, which contained numerous small shrubs and trees. This provided a stark contrast compared to the rest of the city below the hillside and overlook, which had minimal vegetation and consisted mainly of man-made buildings, roads, infrastructure, and cement. Immediately, I noticed the extremely high altitude in comparison to the large expanse of flat land that surrounded the mountain on all four sides. A large telephone or satellite pole protruded from one side of the hills, which appeared

I can hear it in the honking of the inpatient cars, the group of kids riding past on their skateboards and, the chugging of the train passing from one ear to the other. You can hear the life all of the people from coming from everywhere the yelling, the laughing, the chatter heard in so many different languages from all over the world. All of the noise collides together with the faint sounds of construction blending with the swift whooshes of wind along with the music being played on the streets is like a symphony to my ears, creating an anthem to the life of the
