Do you care about your education? A good school can help you get that. The physical and human geography of Stafford Middle School is very positive. For instance, one of the major physical features is that we share areas with our neighboring high school, also, the culture is diverse, and finally the interaction among the students and teachers are quite engaged.
First, one of the major physical features of the school is that we share areas with our neighboring high school. One example is that we share the track with them. This is great because we only use the track for about twenty minutes per gym period and about two months for sports, track and field. Having our own track would be a waste of money and space. Another reason why this is an excellent idea is because it gives the students the opportunity to interact with one another. Talking to older and experienced high schoolers will help middle schoolers when they get to high school. These are just a couple reasons why sharing areas with the high school is a stupendous idea.

Furthermore, Stafford Middle School’s culture is exceedingly diverse.
For instance, not everyone in the school is the same. Students have various opinions on many things. This makes learning more interesting. If everyone was at the same level and students had the same opinions, then the school would be black and white. In addition, students not only get to meet people from different countries but they get to learn about their way of life too. This will enhance the student's knowledge on different parts of the world. Lastly, the school isn’t just one type of nationality or race. Stafford Middle has many people from different countries such as Mexico, China, Philippines, Puerto Rico and more. This is also a great way to make friends with people from around the world. These reasons prove that Stafford Middle School is very
diverse. At long last, the interaction among the students and teachers are quite engaged. For example, students don’t have to be in school to talk to their teachers. There are many ways students and teachers interact, whether it’s by email, StudentVue, Google Classroom, or Remind 101. When students are at home working on a project or homework and they have an important question to ask the teacher, they can simply email them and the teachers are sure to get to the student. This is a great way to boost the student’s grades in their classes. Another example is that the students and teachers manage to get along during the school year. This is great for the learning environment. If the students and teachers were not to get along, this could distract everyone while they are trying to learn. These are the main reasons why the interaction among the students and teachers are extremely important. In conclusion, the physical and geographic features of Stafford Middle School is very positive. Examples were found by proving the physical building shares areas with a nearby high school, the cultural features proves there are a variety of people and the social interaction is quite engaged. As I stated earlier, a good school can help you get the education you deserve.
Due to the multicultural backgrounds in the school, there was a lot of separation between cultures. The differences were bridged through diversity in the school.
Grades also cause a seen diversity among the students. That would be the half that get great grades, and the other half with lower grades. At a young age children can realize which section the fall into. Some students that fall into the lower half may push themselves to do better, but others will not. They see no point when they think they cannot be the higher half. The odds are not in those kids favor, and they know
Some people might say that middle schoolers shouldn’t have recess, but, middle schooler don’t always have gym, and they don’t get enough exercise, so recess would be beneficial to middle schoolers.
I spent grades 4-8 in Wellsburg. Middle school was a very good experience, but I was ready for high school. I loved middle school because we got recess after lunch every day. In my opinion the lunches were better there too. Instead of having advisors, we had B.E.S.T. groups that changed yearly. A few of the things I disliked about middle school was that we couldn’t chew gum or have our phone out throughout the day. The teachers were more
"Because of our students wide ethnic background, they have learned compassion for their fellow students. Sixty-two percent of our student body is made is made up of minorities, yet we do not experience the racial tension found at other schools. Our students live in harmony with each other. They have respect for the culture of others. Our students are an example for other high schools." A quote from Tom Pittman, a member of the school board. This was his opening for a speech given to the PTA after some parents expressed concern over the violence reported by their children.
Diversity in the classrooms will give students access to experience other cultures and learn about one another. The different races effect how varied their backgrounds might be, and it will help the teacher engage a variety of ways to manage course material (Packard, 2017). According to Packard, it is up to the teacher to help spread the learning of diversity and use it to their advantage in their classroom. Throughout the years, diversity have grown in the classrooms, but the struggle of segregation continues.
“At the heart of a high-community school is an inclusive web of respectful, supportive relationships among and between students, teachers and parents. We learn best from, and with, those to whom we relate well. High-community schools emphasize not only the importance of academic learning, but also the other qualities that ...
Their zoned school was primarily low-income and hispanic, they noticed that the population of white students enrolled elsewhere-- contrary to their zone school assignments. The school had a Spanish dual-language program and had small class sizes, both of which interested the two parents, but there were many options open to them. Ultimately, they too chose to go to a different school-- Manhattan School for Children. “While most of the students in District 3 are black or Hispanic, nearly two-thirds of the students at Manhattan School for Children are white.” (The New York Times) Elana and Adam were conscious of the race disparity in the district, the parents considered their zone school to help combat this to some degree-- their children would still benefit-- but they still chose to enroll their child in the predominantly white
The Americans system of education has many advantages compared to foreign countries. Students receive an education and along with it come endless opportunities. With the education system improving, students continue to succeed. According to the Washington United Press International, the graduation rate in America is at 71 percent: a 4.8 percent increase over 1995 (“Graduation rates improve in U.S. cities”). This modest increase happened for many reason. The teachers in America usually teach one subject area and are masters of there skills. This gives an advantage to the student, for they can master their skill and learn form different styles of teaching. One might infer that the diversity in school allows the American system of education to succeed. Diversity in schools impacts the education; for, students learn more form there surrounding. Racial diversity is not common in foreign countries like Japan.
Diversity has broad ranges of spectrums. Students from all across the continent; students from political refugees, indigenous Americans, and immigrants bring their culture and linguistic skills to American classrooms. Students do not only bring their cultures and linguistic skills, but they bring their ethnics, talents, and skills. In addition, their age and gender are two other spectrums that are part of diversity. As the years go by, diversity becomes a controversial topic. The more students that are accepted into American schools from different countries, the more diverse and rich classrooms become.
It was also believed that academic achievements could be increased for students of color and of low-income by teaching newer and more diverse strategies that assist to their strengths in learning. In the first paragraph, I mentioned that a whole is greater than some of its parts. In this special case, multicultural education requires that in order to effectively reform schools, the "whole" entire system must be reconstructed, not just "some of its parts". It’s important seeing as that race, class, gender, sexuality, and ethnicity are such a sensitive matter
Multicultural children encounter a wide array of challenges in schools in America. These challenges hinder their ability to efficiently grow and be productive. Student’s success depends on whether their social and academic lives satisfy their needs. A close study of multicultural students’ obstacles and opinions of their educational experiences in America indicates the problems and solutions for improving their learning, social and cultural experiences.
It is a place where they can feel protected and upheld. Sometimes the bad school performance makes the children feel that they do not belong to that world. It makes her feel that it is not able to keep up with the other colleagues. We all know how children without even knowing it can be cruel with schoolmates. Thus, a bad school performance already is reason for starting bullying against those who do not have good grades. The other children give them pejorative nicknames and isolate them from the rest of the students. This makes the school is torture for this type of student. They end up not putting up the pressure and drop out of school. Another critical point to highlight is the transition to the elementary school to middle school when the school changes the system of having only one teacher to have several teachers and rotations classrooms and colleagues. Sometimes the children do not adapt to this change and drop out of school. The type of school that the child and adolescent attending and the type of teacher they also have are crucial factors for student follows or not in school. As previously mentioned the school environment should be welcoming to the student. If the school is extremely rigid and not provide freedom for the student can feel the will to expose your ideas or even discuss (with discipline and respect) someone’s ideas in class, this school will not be a place where the student liked to spend half his day. Another important point is to have well prepared teacher. The school must have trained and motivated teachers to work. They need to be people that encourage students to develop critical thinking and to make even the most boring of subjects an attractive theme to develop in the classroom. In addition, teachers need to have the sensitivity to realize when a student is going through a period of difficulties and help you overcome
From each school, there has been a separate structure not just in the way the building is designed, but in the structure of classes and the societal dynamics. Murray Elementary was similar to an Elementary School, having one principal teacher teaching your subjects, there were societal divides but unnoticed to the young children. Then there was Oakland, the ground where a pre-civil war plantation, deliberate about when a person scrutinizes over the perception of morality, this young girl walking to classes by myself, this school struggling against the norms letting little second graders walk to classes alone and classes structured by skill level, not age. I recall that I was in math with boys and girls older in than me, in beginning grammar and writing and in a high-level reading and comprehension class. This school’s distinct methods of not just following the norms, but changing the norms of the school, helped create me. Society has norms, but they're universal, there are the norms of a school, but not all schools are the
So many lessons and skills can be learned from the topic of diversity. Learning about different cultures and diversity can strengthen a child 's sense of self as well as the sense of others.Keeping diversity in class can also educate the children on the differences in the different cultures in the world. This allows them to see different living conditions, taste different foods, and experience different traditions. A final reason to keep diversity in the classroom is in doing so betters the teacher being self-aware of diversity can prevent any bias acts being taken in the class. It reminds the teachers to stay open minded and equal toward any and every student that is getting an
