I’m not going to lie, the idea of planning my own funeral kind of freaked me out. However, it is a reality we all have to face eventually, and it’s a good idea to see the actual cost of a funeral and the different details you have to consider. In addition, I think a funeral serves as a remembrance for family and friends and a celebration of life. That being said, I wouldn’t want my funeral to be so gloomy and melancholy, I would want it represent the funny, loud, and loving person I was. For myself, I think I would prefer a burial. It would take place in Rose Hills, only because my dad wants to be buried there and my older sister (she was a baby when she passed away) is buried there. In Rose Hills, the total memorial costs includes the property and funeral costs. The plot itself, which is called a lawn space costs around $3,500. The casket I want is a silver casket that costs $1, 350.00. One because it’s big and two because I have fond memories there, plus its near the church and cemetery. One thing I would like in general at my memorial service, church, and farewell reception is a lot of flowers. I love flowers and it wouldn’t be the same without having different bouquets of roses, hydrangeas, gerbera daises, etc. I would also like a wreath in a shape of a cupcake because baking is one of my hobbies. The quote I got for the flowers was about $850. For food, I would like to have an array of my favorite stuff like tacos, sushi, desserts (I have the biggest sweet tooth), etc. I would also like to have a slideshow that shows on the great memories I had with my family and friends.
