Love is a Powerful Thing
Everywhere you go, there is love. Whether it’s someone loving their cat, or someone loving another person; it can even be someone loving life in general. When you feel love you make sacrifices for the thing that you love because it is special to you. You feel like you only need that one thing in your life and you’ll be content. If you love that thing very much and that thing just disappears one day then you may feel as if you cannot go on without it. All of these feelings are expressed throughout the novel, Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. Love is a powerful emotion that can make people do crazy things in life.

Romeo says that he is now going to defy fate and he is going to commit suicide. He has said many times that he cannot go on without Juliet. Now that the time has come and she has died, so he believes, he has made plans to leave tonight and to see Juliet one last time and then kill himself. Romeo says, “Is it e’en so? Then I defy you stars!, Thou know’st my lodging: get me ink and paper, And hire post-horses; I will hence tonight” This just proves that love is a very powerful emotion that drives people to take actions that we would not normally do.
There are so many books and movies about love and what it drives people to do. An example of a book that relates to Romeo and Juliet is Twilight. Twilight is a love story where Edward believes that Bella is dead. He feels he cannot go on without her so he goes to the Volturi so that they will kill him. This is just like Romeo and Juliet because he has made sacrifices, he only wants her, and he feels he cannot go on without her.
