Happiness does not come from Money In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F.Scott Fitzgerald. All the money in the world would not make Jay Gatsby happy, for he lived to love Daisy and died without her love. In this book Gatsby came upon some mysterious fortune and with this money he tried to fill the voids in his life by throwing extravagant parties. It worked for a while until he met Daisy again and they rekindled their love for each other. Once he met her, he stopped throwing these parties and started spending his time trying to make her happy instead of everyone else. Gatsby and Daisy had a plan to run off together, but this was short lived due to the fact that Gatsby was murdered by Myrtle Wilson's husband, Gorge. He killed him because
of a misunderstanding. Gatsby's car was the vehicle used in the death of Gorge’s wife. Going off of that he killed Gatsby. Even though Daisy and Gatsby had plans to run off together, she still never showed up Did Daisy really love Gatsby? Some might say yes before Gatsby disappeared, and that may be true. But if she really did love him, why did she not attend his funeral? She would have been there if she really did love him. It is sad to think that he loved her so much, but she did not All in all, Gatsby went to great lengths to obtain Daisy’s love, but was unsuccessful. Her true feeling were expressed when she failed to appear at Gatsby’s funeral.

In this day and age, money is a very important asset to have. One needs to have at least enough to live on, though great amounts are preferable. In The Great Gatsby, by Thomas F. Fitzgerald, having a large amount of money is not enough. It is also the way you acquire the money that matters. Gatsby and Tom both have a lot of money yet Daisey picks one over the other, not because of the difference in the amount they have, but because of the manner in which it is attained.

Prosperity cannot be bought, no matter how much money is spent. The only thing that can cause you to be truly happy is the memories you made in your life time with friends and family. Money can help get something off your mind by spending it, but the memories you made while spending your money will make you smile at any time in life. You can socialize with your loved ones and create memories with them. You do not always have to spend money to be happy, but you could make jokes and have a great time to create memories.
