First and foremost, I am thankful to God and HIS many blessings. To my family: Husband and kids: You didn’t sign up for this ride and yet you’ve hung on and have always been my biggest support. I love you and thank God every day for gifting me you. To my fans: I am humbled daily by your encouragement and your love for the stories and characters that fill my brain. It still shocks me that you buy my books and write reviews. You are the reason I continue to write. To Deb Diem Jones: Every now and then, a fan becomes a friend. I have been blessed to discover several such gems along the way but I want to take a moment and acknowledge one in particular. Deb, you are the driving force behind my fan page, Kish’s Playpen. I am humbled by your support, encouragement, steady stream of Tastykakes, and the time you invest in someone you’ve never met. You will forever be Miss Deb in my home. …show more content…
What amazes me is how you are able to patiently swim through my crazy and find nuggets of sense. Your ability to create magnificent teasers, maintain all the components of social media, and still find the energy to slap me (gently) upside the head when I veer off track is gold medal deserving. I have said it many times: You are my Xanax. To my editor: Chris Hall. What would I do without you and your eagle eye? Oh and I forgive you for laughing at the absurdity of a couple of my scenes. Thank you for pushing me to be better, and thank you for the excited energy you bring with you when you edit. To my beta readers: For your critical eye and your honesty: Renee R, April Stone, Jaya, and Jennifer Daniels. You ladies got the story raw, and by the time you were done had made it a
To Cody: You are doing a great job helping Jimmy Means Racing and Joey Gase get the word out about how they doing each weekend at the track. My heart goes out to your uncle AR. I hope your Uncle AR gets well soon. I’m sure your Uncle AR is very proud of everything you have accomplished in your life. I wish you nothing but the best with your future.
Congratulations on your Eagle Scout! It takes a supportive and involved family to achieve that rank. Cole and I park cars at LSU home games and have met a few people from other troops, but so far, you are the first person we have met from Troop 65. Some adult men that I respect are Eagles and give their Boy Scout experience high praise for many life lessons. Hopefully, scouting will "balance" out Cole's life experience of being raised by women and give him practical life skills.
Ladies and Gentlemen – I’ll start by thanking Brian on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind words.
Yesterday, as Martin's friends poured into town, I was struck by how many distinct sets of friends he had. Family, skaters, punks, his Swampland posse, his boys and his girls, Professors, colleagues, Ann Arbor friends, Chicago friends, cyberspace friends who'd never met him "in the flesh"... Trying to walk down the street with him was an exercise in frustration, as Martin's fans flocked to him like the Pied Piper. He was so much, to so many. One of his greatest gifts to us is each other.
So thank you judge Ball, Vanessa, Sharon, Susan, Dan, the rest of the panel, my peers, and whoever else I’ve missed. You guys gave me the opportunity to live. And though the sun sets on this chapter of my journey and the dawn rises on the next one I will always be eternally grateful and indebted to you all.
Thank you to all of our amazing family and friends for everything you have done. Words aren’t enough to express our love and gratitude we have for you.
Thank you very much for the hospitality during Nick’s graduation week. We all had such a great time and are glad that the Goldman family could celebrate with us! It was great to see you again; may I remind you the Brave Old Army Team began a historic winning streak over Navy last time I was able to visit. We are all so excited to welcome Loren into our (sometimes crazy) family next year; it is easy to see where her personality and witty sense of humor originates. You all know how to have a great time!
Thank you to the artists, you all are so incredibly talented. We wish you all the future success and hope you continue to to involved with us in the future.
However, before I begin, on behalf of John and Angie I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this the special day that it is - and I think we can all agree it has been splendid so far.
Ms. Joji dela Peña, thank you for editing and improving my valedictory address. Your expertise made the words more beautifully interwoven. It was very kind and noble of you to help me with the speech even though it was such a short notice. Ms. Joji, thank you very much!
This is a book that you have to experience for yourself if you're a Star Wars fan. Even if not all the stories quite worked for this reviewer, it's impossible to deny that every writer felt very strongly about contributing to this project. It shows through in their writing. This is a book you could read slowly, story by story, or just consume in great big gulps, maybe even one sitting, like you would for A New
Congratulations to all who made it to the end. And good thinking to all who just read the intro and skipped to the end. Smiles go to all of you. I’m not going to torture you with any more outrageously long words or lengthy sentences. Good bye and thank you, to all who took the time to read this.
Today we celebrate the life of my dear friend, Jerome. Jerome, you were my teacher, my mentor and my dear friend. You provided me your counsel and wisdom. You shared your joyous smile and laugh. You shared your zest for life and the passion for all those things that were important to you.
Family & Friends, I wanted to give an update on our week. I have not been able to reach out to many people individually because we have been very busy.
In particular, I would like to thank my wonderful, amazing Mother (Ms. Mennie B. Bethea), for never giving up on me! Even from the grave I will thank my father ( Maston Bethea Jr), for coming to me in my dreams to help me affirm that this book project has to be completed and talents used, before my journey ends. To my sisters and brother: Evelyn, Rosie, Hattie, Connie and Malcolm, who will go any length to help me stay on track.
