The speakers in the film believe that the purpose of education is to create a public where democracy can thrive. This means creating a new generation of young adults that are highly knowledgeable and are able to make informed decisions about political subjects and can make their votes count when they are able to vote. They have the knowledge about how the government works and what they can do as an individual to make a difference in their community. They have the knowle...
John Forbes Kerry is the candidate I would chose in the up in coming election. Some of the issues that would decide my vote are environment, the economy, homeland security, social issues, and Iraq. I would also vote for John Kerry because he has done good things for Massachusetts and I know he will do good things for this country. My last reason for voting for John Kerry is because he will bring our troops home safely. On November 2, 2004 I would vote for John Kerry.
Right now in the United States there is a war going on - a war between US Americans and Illegal Mexican immigrants. It has been an increasing problem in the last decade and when asking Americans, especially in the south, what problem is the biggest threat to national security, one of the first mentioned are “Illegal immigration”.
The men who founded America were men with deep religious beliefs and a firm faith in God. They based their actions and decisions on what the Bible teaches, and used God’s laws to write the laws of our nations. Benjamin Franklin once said “Here is my Creed. I believe in one God, the Creator of the Universe. That He governs it by His Providence. That He ought to be worshipped…as to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, is the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see.” (Franklin, Founding Faith Archive). His statement was not only indicative of his beliefs, but of the beliefs of the rest of the founding fathers. They believed that a successful country was built upon principles laid out in the Bible by God, and that ultimately, the “ideal society” could be formed if everyone adhered to the guidelines established throughout the word of God. While these men were not deities that served as any sort of moral standard, they did serve as Godly influences. Their belief that the guidelines for a successful country were written in the Bible ultimately led to these men laying the foundation for one of the most dominant societies this world has ever seen.

“Social media has also created an exciting outlet for the people to see news and stay updated on current events in the world” ("Are Social Networking Sites”). The majority of the media broadcast the troubles and trials the United States has and to some extent people could get ideas from the bad broadcast and could do the same things. Maybe if the media could limit the broadcast of bombings, gun shootings, killing police officers, and much more, all of it would gradually disappear. This report describes the impact of social media on children, adolescents, and families. The author, O’Keeffe, presents the benefits of children and adolescents using social media; he also presents the rise of youth using social media.
To determine if social media network technology in education is or will be successful we need to determine what success is. What are the intended goals of using the social network technology in education? Currently I believe that the goals include initiating new ways of learning, learners sharing work, a general location for collecting resrouces, and a new way of conducting group work. With the goals of the social media technology in mind lets look at what social media is doing currently.
Every human being strives for success. Every person wants to be the best, the most respected. And the ultimate success, in many ways, begins with an individual’s education. But what are people willing to give to be the best? As of today, 75% of high school students admit to cheating at least one time a year (Stanford.edu). When a number is so shockingly high, the question that follows is, why?
As technology increases and develops in this century, the use of social media increases as well. Schools have begun adapting it, using it as their tool to inform students of any school related news. However, using it as a tool for learning is a different story. By using it as a tool, it can push you off your course with classes. Social media is something that is not needed at school grounds. Schools should not require social media use in classes.

Exposing students to the power of social media in the classroom is an important part of preparing them to be active and positive digital citizens in a 21st century world. In the last two years, my own students have rapidly been drawn to Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and many other social networking platforms. They upload, share, and connect with others often without any regard to how their digital footprints may reflect them as individuals. Having continuous conversations with students about the choices that they make can lead to positive results. Students don't realize how powerful social media platforms can be in terms of networking, researching, and engaging in academic conversations. It makes me laugh every time I hear them whisper about my colleague Heather's or my Twitter feed. First of all kids, I can hear you. Second of all, yes, social media can be an amazing way to give and exchanged knowledge.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Parascope, Snapchat, and Linkedin are all a part of the huge trend taking over the world. Social media had become big about ten years ago and keeps growing. Social media is not in just one or two countries yet it is worldwide; people in almost all countries are liking statuses and posting updates and pictures.
