The storyline of Henry’s daughters’ reflect a lot of ethical issues that engineers are likely to come across in the work place and also how to overcome those issues by making correct decisions that will not put them into bad positions at the end, which are likely to be severe consequences. It also shows engineers to be professional in the workplace and follow the Engineers Code of Conduct for their country in order to meet the professional morals rather than considering only the personal morals that will at the end benefit everyone in the society instead of individual benefits.

From all the ethical issues encountered in the storyline, looking at the henry’s family all have been affected by the consequences as this results in henry losing his qualification and being fined whereas Laura is in trouble of being questioned by the legal team on how GUIDEME managed to win the competition and being handed the undeserved contract from the department she works in, which in turn could result in her losing her job since her responsibility as an engineer according to ECSA code 3(2),h, must give engineering decisions, recommendations or opinions honest, objective and based on facts. It also creates family conflicts amongst the daughters and henrys due to his corrupt tactics, which create dishonesty in the family. Government officials made the decision and this violates Laura’s rights as an engineer to make decisions by recommending which project is worth it winning the prize. Parties that bribe should be fined and prisoned too in order to create order and fair competitions.
