Learning to be a leader helps me with working on my social skills and continues to be helpful for people in need. On the last two chapters, it explains how to be an ethic leader and overcome obstacles. There are six factors that are explained in chapter 12 “Addressing Ethics in Leadership.” While in chapter 13 “Overcoming Obstacles,” explains seven different obstacles that prevent building the community and being productive as well as providing solutions to overcome them. Through the chapters, I will share my reflections to understand how to become a better leader respecting values and solving problems. A leader with respect would not have any problem with their followers to do their task as well as giving their trust to his or her leader. On the other chapter, an obstacle describes as a hindrance, problem, or hurdle that gets in the way of follower by making it difficult to reach their goals. I face obstacles every day and everywhere I go through my life. One of my obstacles from becoming a better leader is social skills because I was diagnosed with autism. Learning to be ethic leader can be an obstacle for me, too. For a successful ethic leadership, I need to keep mind to the six factors that are important to an ethic leader. Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship are the main dimensions of the ethic leader’s characteristics. When individuals are confused about their goals, they are less likely to be successful; will be less excited about their work and less gratified about their accomplishments. So I need to gather my entire follower in a meeting in order to give a step-by-step direction of understanding the goal for the communities and themselves. If the directions are unclear, individuals will lose their capacity to move forward. I know that everyone is different and I need to give each follower specific directions to help him or her reach his or her goal. Individuals will work less if their motivation are low because they do not feel competent, get what they expect, and value what they do. As a leader, I need to help my followers to increase their motivation by targeting on the three components. If the tasks are too complex, it became an obstacle for the individuals. For a complex task, it would be best for me to break it down into parts so the path to the goal is clear. Individuals feel boring and unchallenging when doing simple tasks over and over again. I do not mind doing things over again, but it is not fair for my followers and they just need support to continue to do it. Without the involvement from the individuals, productivity decrease and the organization will suffer. If I want my followers to get involved, I should let them to share their ideas and
