Training qualifies employees to learn new things and, develop their knowledge and skills (Richey, 2000) and to obtain positive changes on-job behaviour (Garvin, 2008), Training process assists organisations and employees to deal with the consequences of changes in the business world that result from competition, globalization, and the advancements in technology, the training process basically tries to improve trainees’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and their job behavior, it can polish and upgrade employee's performance and productivity, and it's considered as a tool for the new products, markets, and technologies to manage the risks related.
Davis and Goetsch defined training as “an organized, systematic series of activities prepared to improve an individual’s work, knowledge, skills and understanding or motivation” (Davis & Goetsch, 2010, p. 262).
From the experience I have encountered when reading about training and from my knowledge I can give a brief definition of training; it is a process of assessing the needs through three levels (organization, job, and person) to identify the requirements of a superior performance and the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by an organisation's workforce to obtain, achieve, and get what is required, and to classify the needed resources to fulfill the organization's mission, and to improve productivity, it's like moving forward for development purpose.
Training assessment is used to identify the gap between the current performance and the required performance; it builds up, converts and expresses individuals' abilities to accomplish specific activities, it is defined as a methodical development of the needed qualifications, and capabilities of employees to achieve their work (Vukovi...
