Trump’s Orders on Immigration President Trumps ban on other countries with people that have proven track records of being licentious, terroristic, and cruel from entering our country has many pros and cons. Most people would not agree with anything that President Trump is saying about his executive orders because there are many people that want to just consider him to be nothing but racist or imbecilic from what others talk about him, or what the media says. Not many people want to see the benefits of what he is trying to do. Sure it seems a little harsh to a point but what’s currently happening is that it is a short term ban for example the refugee proposal has been put on hold for up to 120 days and traveling from the countries that have …show more content…
A lot of American citizens are actually supporting his executive order since in recent years people have experienced more frequent terror attacks and really haven’t felt too safe because of it. President trumped campaigned on “Making America safe again.” So why not try to give him a chance to figure this problem out with his administration. People are actually overlooking the entry of America can be approved on by looking at who is entering our country individually by either the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security meaning others like military or people that are vacationing coming back to the United States can be approved to come back in. Just like its not a complete disaster its also not a the perfected order like some believe. There are a few cons as well an example being that it could have been expanded from just a few Muslim countries to others that have track records with bad non influential people. Another con is that how it was written out, it didn’t really make to much sense to people and even President Trumps own administration as well. It didn’t go over any specific detail in the order which for example confused the public making them think that people who legally applied for American visas or green cards couldn’t get back in the
Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, is not one of the most well-known presidents to have ever served in office though he did do some good things during his presidency. The vice president’s journey to the presidency began after the assassination of the beloved president, John F. Kennedy. Before serving as president, he was the youngest Senator to ever serve as a majority leader and he sat in the House of Representatives. Although Johnson served two terms as president, he only ran in one election because of the death of Kennedy. However, the one election he ran in, he won in by a landslide (Ridings & Melver 231). Lyndon B Johnson, the Democratic president, who served from 1963-1969, might have been infamous for the decisions he made during the Vietnam War, but his Great Society and Civil Rights Act helped shape the nation in a good way.
Thirty-one states are not welcoming refugees, seven are welcoming refugees, and twelve are not making a commitment to either side. Governors cannot legally deny entry to refugees but they can make it extremely difficult to gain access. Michigan governor Rick Snyder stated the following ‘It’s also important to remember that these attacks are the effects of extremists and do not reflect the peaceful ways of Middle Eastern descent here and around the world.’ (CNN). Mister Snyder does not welcome refugees to his state because the safety of his citizens is his number one priority but he does not want people to look down on refugees. American citizens do not want refugees in their communities. This is a prime example of xenophobia and could lead to backlash, discrimination, and violence directed towards refugees. Refugees would be targeted and become victims of hate
This ban was implemented in order to prevent criminal organizations such as gangs, cartels, and other criminal groups from preventing crime. What this executive order does is allow the law enforcement the right to prosecute citizens and also deport non-citizens that are caught in illegal behavior or criminal behavior for say. “These activities go on a wide ranging list such as illegal smuggling and trafficking of humans, drugs or other substances, wildlife, and weapons," "corruption, cybercrime, fraud, financial crimes, and intellectual-property theft," and money laundering” (Harrington, 2017). This actually got a lot of people excited because it is what many people wanted to happen. A lot of people are fine with immigration but not fine with immigrants committing illegal
George W. Bush has been locked in on politics before his presidency. His father was U.S. President, George H.W. Bush and he joined a variety of political clubs in highschool and college (Alterman & Green, 2004). Before his presidency, George W. Bush was the governor of Texas. Like the rest of his family, George W. Bush’s grandfather had a role in politics. His grandfather was a former Republican Senator of Connecticut. Although George W. Bush was elected to serve for two terms, he is written down as one of our worst presidents due to political, economic, and worldwide dispute.
To impel, Trump’s travel ban is flat out illegal. This is in accordance with The Immigration Act of 1965 which was summarized by The New York Times as follows “The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 banned all discrimination against immigrants on the basis
“Make America Great Again” (Trump). This is the quote Donald Trump runs by. But if this was true, why does he say that if he were elected, he will take actions that will only make America suffer? Trump has never done anything beneficial for the U.S. He is a businessman who only cares about making money and increasing his wealth. Trump should not become president, for he is an unqualified candidate who has no political background and makes unconstitutional promises.
Main points: Donald Trump would make a very good president. Opponents of this view point of mine would have things to say like “Trump is a power hungry business mogul with a happy trigger finger” or that he is too forward and has no censorship of the things that he says to the public and press. They would also say somethings such as he would buy out who ever does not agree with him or will not let him do what he wants and that he could not run a full blown country with all the facets that comes with it.
Donald Trump is a republican politician and businessman who was elected on November 8, 2016, as the president of United States taking the power in January of 2017. Trump brought many worries to a lot of people in the U.S.A and abroad which made them unhappy, but his presidency also made many people happy, especially Christians and republicans. I personally did not watch the debates, but I was able to hear about it on people around me, as most of the people that I know wanted Hillary Clinton to win because they saw so much of discrimination on Trump. Trump focused his campaign and debates on focusing on changing America for better, but the better changes were saying was only to give the opportunities to Americans only, cutting off the opportunity
I understand why America would pass such a bill because of the attack in Paris. The attacker got into the country when Refugees were coming into Paris. That point is understandable. On the other hand, people in Syria and Iraq may died because this bill was passed. The people from Syria and Iraq want to stay temporarily until the horrible crimes in their country resolves. This is not a good look on America because we are known for helping many people in this world and for us to just stop helping others is cruel. We have the best border control in the world, so not letting these people in is absurd. If we are so afraid we should get more soldiers to help protect the borders. It is very sickening to know that America out of all country is deciding to sit out on this
When looking at the powers of different presidents, you have to look at their responsibilities and what power they actually have when it comes to decision making. Both the Iranian and American presidents have two different presidential powers, formal and informal. Formal powers are ones that are written into the constitution and have to be upheld by anyone who comes into power, for example both presidents can sign treaties with foreign countries. Informal power are not explicitly written into the constitution (1), but are done by the president, for example being persuasive, this is a power they need to use because that is how they will gain the presidential role, by persuading the public and to make international treaties they need to use the
Illegal immigration is a complex issue that impacts the United States in many different ways, in particular the economy of the country is one that is impacted the most (Illegal immigration a $113 billion a year drain on U.S. taxpayers). Sanctuary cities have provided many safeguards to keep undocumented immigrants from being deported, thus creating many incentives for people outside the United States that are thinking of coming to the United States illegally. Illegal immigration is caused in part by sanctuary cities.
To understand the power struggle relating to foreign policymaking, it is crucial to understand what foreign policy entails. The Foreign Policy Agenda of the U.S. Department of State declares the goals of foreign policy as "to build and sustain a more democratic, secure, and prosperous world for the benefit of the American people and the international community." While this definition is quite vague, the actual tools of foreign policy include Diplomacy, foreign aid, and military force.
When the United States Constitution was first established, the framers had in mind a government that would allow for itself to be put in check by the people and itself. They could no longer stand for tyranny, which is why they established a system in which there could be separate parts of the government making laws, interpreting, and enforcing them. These Separation of Powers, first thought of in the 51st Federalist Paper, written by James Madison, are known as our three branches of government; the legislative, judicial, and executive branches. However, the main issue with validating the Constitution was that the Anti-Federalists were afraid of a central government controlling the power in the nation. The Bill of Rights was then enacted as
No sooner had a midnight deadline passed without congressional action on a must-pass spending bill than lawmakers launched their time-honored competition over who gets the blame for their collective failure. The Senate floor turned into an organizing ground for dueling discourses early Saturday morning, and officials of the two gatherings—and also the White House and political-extremist gatherings—overflowed the inboxes of correspondents with prewritten proclamations censuring one side or the other. Driven by President Trump, Republicans blamed Senate Democrats for holding prisoner the whole government and medical coverage for many kids over their requests for a movement charge. "This is the conduct of obstructionist washouts, not officials," the White House said in an announcement issued minutes before the clock
In today's recent national affairs, one of the most important topics that come up is the government shutdown of 2013. This political and financial crisis has crucially affected millions of American citizens all over the country in countless ways. When it comes to discussion about the government shutdown, most people will agree that the main reason for the shutdown would be because the government failed to pass legislation for appropriating funds for the economic fiscal New Year for 2014. Where this agreement ends is on the question of how much damage the government shutdown had on different concepts of international government. Government spending and different policies also played a major role in causing this political and economic crisis. The negative effects of the shutdown have affected the jobs and lives of many hard working Americans. This caused a number of important health programs important to public safety such as infectious disease surveillance, inspections of food and drug manufactures and monitoring of imported food and drugs.1 This affected many American citizens because it causes the food they eat to possibly infected with disease which can cause sickness or even death and it also caused health and human services to let go 52 percent of its staff during the shutdown.2 It also caused many employees to be laid off at a peak of 850,000 people.3 This unfortunate economic crisis caused various negative effects on the lives of Americans all over the nation. It also negatively impacted the lives of Americans by bringing programs to a halt that they relied on to get by.
