Napoleon Bonaparte is remembered for his military successes around the world, but is rarely regarded for his great success of reforming France in his short 11 year reign. But Napoleon did more than just have a strong military career. Napoleon Bonaparte reformed France into a country that had values and policies that were ahead of its century. Napoleon is prestige remembered for being a little vicious military genius and strategist. His military success led him to travelling all around the world beating uncanny odds and striking fear into his enemies’ eyes. His military success even led him to capture the powerful nation of Italy and become its supreme ruler for a short term. Not all the change Napoleon Bonaparte made to France was military. The change within Frances borders formerly consists in the way education was run in France, the political standpoint of France, and mostly importantly the Napoleon Code which has many values that France and many democratic countries use today.
Napoleon was a very controversial character in his time, some even say he had openly betrayed the revolution. Others say he was an egotistic maniac who abandoned thousands of Frenchmen at Egypt to pursue his own ambitions. Many opposed Napoleon and his outlooks, but the common person in France would soon have a change of heart, as Napoleon did marvelous wonders to the shattered nation of France. Napoleon believed that everyone is entitled to knowledge and education; and therefore he set out on a goal to change education from the old past system to the one we know today. Napoleons recontrustion of Frances physical and political formation caused many successes. France became a productive country with a large scale of the population open to educating themselves and pursuing a career choice based on their education. Napoleon reconstructed roads, made new networks, repaired old broken buildings and rebuilt symbolic cities such as Paris. Napoleons Code ensured citizens their equality both inside the court of law. The population educated themselves which meant more critical thinking and liberty between them. Under Napoleon, France once again became a respected nation that it was once and has ever since been one of the most economically and military powerful nations in the world.
