Hello MIAD Leadership Coordinator(s),

It was probably by good luck that I saw the sign about leadership positions by the elevator considering I, being a rambunctious spirit, prefer taking the stairs; but regardless, by the encouragement of others I’m determined now that I’ll persuade you to choose me amid others for this opportunity to assist residents, students and the many artists which make up MIAD’s great community. I’m not certain of what makes an excellent leader at MIAD, maybe you don’t know exactly either, but I believe that my skills and attitude would be a positive addition to any program as I’m always ready to learn, teach and share moments. After falling into a fit of admiration for this school and the unique challenges it brings to me every day, I’ve become excited to be a part of its workings. I’d like to be someone who can help others acclimate here and give them the sense of belonging that I have received. An environment without people that care is not much of an environment at all, and I know I can be one of those people. I wouldn’t have chosen to do so earlier, not understanding how much it matters that we have people to look to for help. With the encouragement of many I’ve realized how happy others become when offered the right support or a nudge of direction within their writing skills. And it’s made me ecstatic seeing what value I can bring to others. Whether as an RA at 252 or through tutoring, I just want to make others smile, bumps in the road included. I bet you $5 and a bag of Doritos that we will all get out of here alive.
