INTRODUCTION
Managing and leading are completely the two different ways of organizing the people. Leadership is the ability of an individual to control, encourage and enable others to contribute toward the efficiency & the success of the organizations of which they are team members. On the other hand management includes the directing and controlling a group of more than one people or entities for the function of coordinating & harmonizing the group towards accomplishing a goal.
Management is defined as the control process that ensures lapses in performance are marked and corrected through the feedback. Managerial processes are almost closest to the fail-safe and the risk-free. The contribution of the leadership is to encourage, motivate and energies people by fulfilling the essential human needs for accomplishment, self esteem, recognition, a sense of belonging, control over another life and an ability to live up to one’s ideals.
Best leaders encourage people by building the vision appropriate to the specific group, supporting the employee with proper training, feedback, role modeling and by recognizing and rewarding success. Leadership is also define people whilst management, control and creating results whereas management is the one who has lesser skill than the leadership one. (Yukl, "nobody has proposed that leadership and management are equivalent, but the degree of overlap is a point of sharp disagreement" 2006, p5). The functions of the management can provide the leadership and the leadership actions can contribute to managing but still various leaders do not manage and various managers do not lead. CONCLUSION
The conclusion of the report is that the management and leadership are both different concepts as the manager uses a reserved, rational and formal method while on the other hand the leader uses his passion and stirs emotions. Leadership is the ability to influence employees to voluntarily pursue organizational goals. Leadership is vision, enthusiasm, love, trust, passion and consistency. Management is defined as the act or manner of managing, handling, direction, or control (dictionary.com). Leadership is defined as an act or instance of leading; guidance; direction (dictionary.com). They do not mean the same thing; however, it is thought that a manager should have leadership skills to be able to manage an organization. Not all managers have great leadership skills and just because a manager does not have these skills does not mean he or she is a bad manager.
Many organizational theorists concur that existence of effective leadership is one of the important contributors to the overall organizational success. Leadership is defined as “a process of social influence by which an individual enlists the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a task or mission" (Chemers, 1997). According to Stogdill (1957) he defined leadership as the individual behaviour to which guides a group to the achievement of a common objective. Lee and Chuang (2009) explained an excellent leader does not only inspires subordinates’ potential but enhance efficiency to meet their objective in the achievement of organizational goals. Chen (2009) collaborates with these statements by considering that leadership is as process in which various behavioural approaches are used to guide employees to a shared goal. In the process the leader influences the organization members through a series of interpersonal interactions in which they seek to inspire the organizational members towards attaining organizational goals. The main difference that separates these two roles is that management is a function that must be utilized in any type of business, and leadership is the relationship that the leader has with his followers, which in turn can motivate and energize the organization.

Each organization requires a balance of both. Too much of one will result in your organization failing to meet its goals. Managers tell people what to do, to reach the organizations goals. Leaders also tell people what to do, but they make the employee want to do what is necessary to achieve the goal. In my business, leadership is monumental in us making a profit. The people that work for me feel a part of a team. We do what we can to help motivate our workers and that in turn creates a higher performance rate. Management is then the term describe the work done by the manager, which are planning, organizing, leading and controlling the use of human and other resources, in order to help the organization to achieve a higher organization performance. Planning is to define to goals or targets of the organization and devising action plans to meet organization goals. Organizing is to determine what tasks should be done, arrange jobs to subordinates, controlling the budgeting and divided tasks to individuals or teams. Leading is to motivate staffs to work, maintaining the progress of activities and good relationship and to ensure to work done effective and efficient. Leadership and management are two fundamental concepts which are involved in the effective management of organizations. Leadership in my opinion is a complex concept, which includes association of human qualities and the result of their activities. To be a great leader means not only following own visions, but also work towards company’s goals.
Leadership, without doubt, is a significantly important function of management. It helps to aggrandize efficiency and to fulfil an organization’s goals. Leadership is the ability of a manager to induce the subordinates to work with confidence, determination, courage and zeal. It is also defined as ability to influence a group towards the realization of a goal. Leaders should have the capability of developing future visions, and to drive the organizational members to want to attain the visions. This paper states my points in which I duly believe, justifies the importance of an outstanding leader in any organization.
