Food can contribute to both positive and negative psychological feelings, so it is important to eat well to feel well. “Healthy eating can help reduce depression symptoms, reduce the chances of bipolar episodes, reduce anxiety and reduce the negative symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder” (Butler, 2011). Making good choices in the kitchen will improve your mental, physical, and psychological being. Things, such as alcohol or food that is high in sugar, can increase hyperactivity levels. At the beginning of human time, there was no such thing as processed foods. The food we ate was simply for energy, not enjoyment. This was a time when every thing that we consumed was natural. We had no food companies loading our food with chemicals and preservatives. Humans were strong, fit, healthy, and in return, happy. Our bodies respond positively to natural food. Eating right will keep the brain sharp. According to CNN, eating certain foods can help boost your brain function. “Consuming chocolate, grape juice, extra virgin olive oil, apples and spinach have all been shown to help ward off some cognitive decline and improve memory” (Butler, 2012). With your memory and brain functioning to their full abilities, it promotes a mental well-being and happiness. The main goal of food is to be a source of energy for all organisms. “Unhealthy foods, such as those high in sugar and refined grains, provide an increase in energy levels that dip shortly after they spike. After eating these foods, you will experience short bursts of energy, but they will not be sustained, and then you will feel fatigued” (Butler, 2011). The junk food can make you feel worse and drag you down more than before. This can be associated with weight gain, lack of energy, and laziness. With all of those things coming in to play, you can feel a large drop in your self esteem as well (McVeigh, 2006). When you consume whole, nutrient-dense

A healthy diet may help to prevent certain chronic long-term conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and may reduce the risk of developing certain cancers. Nutrition information offers a public health tool that could be used to promote informed consumer choice and aid consumption of a healthy diet. However millions of women chose to take dietary supplements to maintain good health, ease illnesses and defy ageing. Supplements are also used as a medication in women with decreased iron stores, because of menses and pregnancies (Anderson & Fitzgerald, 2010). The main aim of the research project is to explore the motivations surrounding the use of nutritional information among young women and relate this information to the choice to use supplements. This is important to women’s health and the topic of nutrition as a large amount of money is spent on both food and supplements. When nursing patients with a wide range of different conditions nutrition is the foundation of all treatment. It also reduces mortality, relapses and subsequent hospital admissions. The complexity of this subjective person and objective body aligned philosophically as interpretivism and positivism respectively reinforces the importance of both qualitative and quantitative approaches contributing to understanding of this (Gerrish and Lacey 2006). Nutrition is also crucial in health and social policy financially through reduction in readmissions which will reduce costs for practice as obesity and poor diet cost the NHS billions of pounds every year (Department Of Health, 2013).
The psychology of eating is an essential field of study in the modern world, especially when it comes to nutritional science. This includes a lack of eating or an addiction to. Problems are usually caused by psychological problems relating to food or drinks and can result in eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. Food is central to the lives of all, and more recently, media interest has focused public attention on the food we eat, and its influence on physical health and mental well-being. However, it is only in the past

Through life we have many different stages to where we are either settling down for a nice home cooked meal or we are constantly on the go, running around our hectic lives, eating very unhealthy foods. Especially in our college years, students are always on the go running to and from class grabbing a burger and fries from a campus restaurant or eating the microwaveable foods like ramen. Many people try to eat healthy, but always succumb to the stereotype that eating healthy is expensive and takes too much time. This is a common misconception because there are ways in which anyone can eat healthy and on a budget as long as they eat proper portions, eat the right kind of foods, and excessive.
Ethical eating is currently an international trending topic. Many people from around the globe are considering their options regarding food sources, humane foods and ethical preparation of food and its origins. After learning how to prepare meatless meals in their kitchens, new vegetarians find cooking to be easier and more enjoyable than when they prepared meat in their respective kitchens. For example, new vegetarians can appreciate the cleanliness of their kitchens due to the lack of blood, grease and animal fat that may be left behind from preparing flesh. Mindfulness unlocks your senses. It is the practice of being fully aware of what is happening within and around you in the moment. This is not easy to do! Practicing mindfulness helps people make better choices in regards to what and how they eat. There is a lot to learn here, but taking simple steps like noticing the smells, temperatures, textures and tastes of the foods in your meal is a good place to start. Mindful eating also requires you to reduce distractions such as physical, mental, social and emotional ones. People often find that they enjoy their food much more once beginning more mindful approaches to eating. Mindful eating also seems to improve food choices, in both what and how people eat. It essentially reshapes your relationship with food and makes eating more enjoyable because you learn your reactions to food preferences, habits and tastes.
Eating Responsibly To eat responsibly means to know what you are eating and knowing what you are putting into your body, whether it is healthy for you or not. It’s a sad fact that the typical American diet (high in meat and processed foods) is not healthy. There are a lot of different ways to stay healthy, but it can also be very difficult to follow a good diet plan all the time. I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I have tried to eat well before all of my classes. I include the necessary protein of eggs and sausage, and include a fruit of some kind.
Health is described as physical and mental well-being and freedom from disease, pain or defect. However, such descriptions only superficially define the actual meaning of health. There may be many occasions when individuals are not necessarily ill or in pain but may be overweight, stressed or emotionally unstable. Health is a quality of life involving dynamic interaction and interdependence among the individual’s physical state, their mental and emotional reactions, and the social context in which the individual exists. There are many factors that influence your health, but three major components contribute to general well-being: Self-awareness, a balanced diet and, regular physical activity.

My health is of great importance to me. I firmly believe that having good health is imperative for a happy life. Having bad health can wreck havoc in one’s daily life. I know from personal experience because it has been happening to me these past few weeks. I’m thankfully, recovering as time passes, but I can contribute most of the misery I went through due to lack of sleep. I’ve only experienced these awful symptoms for about a short amount of time, but it’s probably the worst torment I’ve ever experienced in my life to this date. I feel so much happier now because my symptoms are improving. Having good health makes life much more bearable, and now I’m able to do my daily activities with much more ease. Taking care of my body is probably the best thing I can do for myself because it will keep me happy in both the short term, and long term.

It doesn’t matter how healthy the food is, sometime to most of the time the healthiest food contain some of the most fattening ingredients. People should think about what they are eating. Even though people show
Previously to taking this class, I had never given much thought to my eating habits. I always thought of the way I chose to eat as one of those things I didn’t need to concern myself with too heavily now because I’m a young broke college student. The way I eat is pretty similar to the way most of my friends eat and when you live away from home, that seems like the norm for people in college. However, after applying what I’ve learned in this class to my life, I’ve realized that the dietary choices I make now affect not only my current health, but my future health as well. So overall, I would say that my eating habits are pretty bad, but I’m working on making them better.
