Let's talk gun rights, and what gun rights are doing to our economy today. What are gun rights you ask? Well as american citizens as it says in the second amendment of the constitution,we the people have the right to keep and bear arms/guns.I believe that we should be able to keep our guns and be able to protect ourselves from the people that can cause all the shootings. If they get rid of our guns than we won't be able to protect ourselves from the bad people that will get guns for ex: from of the black market.
Lots of people don’t really understand that it is people that are killing not guns, but people still think that getting rid of guns will change everything,at least in a bad way. An example of a shooting would be in freeman High School, a kid had walked into the school with a gun and killed people but if someone els had a gun than he wouldn’t have attempted to even try to bring a gun because other people would have one too. The problem with people always carrying a gun is no one would feel safe because so many people would feel like a shooting could happen at any time. Although the gun business would sky rocket it would cause a threat to the people of the U.S. because people will feel like they need to protect themselves from whoever has a gun and that could cause a shooting and many people to get hurt. Guns would start to cost a lot more because they will sell them faster than they can make them, which would make people not want to buy
Many gun control activists believe that the solution is simple; ban all guns and there won't be any crimes committed with guns. Obviously this is not the answer but there are people that believe this would work. There are also a lot of people that know this would never work. The main reason is because criminals are not going to care if the crime they are committing is with an illegal weapon or not. They are already committing a crime, what's one more going to hurt. A majority of crimes committed with guns are committed with illegally bought firearms. If you were to ban guns completely the only people that would not have guns are the laws abiding citizens who want to protect themselves.
Left, right, Liberal, Conservative, Democratic, Republican. There are a lot of synonyms for the sides of our nation divided. Divided on many things: religion, political views, morals, etc.. For a nation that prides ourselves on extraordinary security and unity, it is quite ironic that so many issues can cause such distress and uproar within communities. One such issue is gun control. As a white male in a middle-lower class family that has never owned a gun, I may be somewhat biased. Objectively as I can, I am going to report the facts and more importantly, try to find the core issues at play.
The debate over firearms has been polarized for too long. Gun law is a never-ending issue because there hardly is any true debate. Americans (and even gun owners) do support the governments efforts to make sure guns are less dangerous in violent hands, but that is the main problem-the guns getting in the wrong human hands. Millions of law-abiding Americans do own and do enjoy their guns. But criminals and sometimes-disconcerted kids often use firearms to kill. The use of firearms has increased tremendously. An average day in Los Angeles is four people dying in a gun related crime and the United States faces approximately 87 deaths a day. There are more than 200 million guns in circulation in the United States and if you don’t own a firearm, chances are that your neighbor or friend does (Fineman 27). Sure, the Founding Fathers incorporated the Second Amendment as “the right to keep and bear arms,” but it did not give the distinction of using guns to kill more children and people than anywhere in the world.
In America guns have been a part of the country’s society since it’s birth. Throughout history the citizens of the US have used firearms to protect the nation, protect their families, hunt for food and engage in sporting activities. The issue of Guns and gun control is complex. Weighing the rights and liberties of the individual against the welfare and safety of the public has always been a precarious balancing act. In the United States, gun control is one of these tumultuous issues that has both sides firmly entrenched in their positions. Those parties in favor of gun ownership and the freedom to use and keep arms, rely on the fact that the provision for such rights is enshrined in their constitution. In this climate of growing violence, rife with turmoil and crime, gun advocates feel more than ever that their position is justified. As citizens of the “Land of the Free” possessing a gun is a fundamental right, and may even be a necessity... Anti- gun lobbyists point to the same growing violence and gun related crimes in an effort to call on the government to take action. By enacting more laws and stricter control, these people not in favor of guns feel society would be better safer.
Guns do not kill people, people do. The American Dream is being able to work towards and achieve whatever makes you happy, whether it be owning your own business, joining the military, or staying at home raising a family, but the only way to reach your dream is to do it without living in fear that your dream will be taken away. In the last couple years mass shootings and attacks on schools have sadly become a common tragedy. Those who have been victims of public shootings or any other life scarring event due to a criminal, along with anyone else who has watched the coverage of the tragedies on the news is somewhat living in fear, but if concealed carry laws were passed then living in fear would be significantly lowered along with crime rates. According to Mike Miller, author of What Happened to Chicago’s Murder Rate After Illinois Upheld Concealed Carry and Why it Matters, “three to four crimes are stopped by a handgun than are committed in the United States every year” (Miller). People would feel much safer knowing they would be able to defend themselves if the time ever arose. When we think or hear about guns most of us jump to the negative effects and stories we have heard. The only stories we hear about guns are how a person’s life has ended because of it, but we never hear how they save a person’s life. It is important to remember the commonly used phrase when talking about concealed carry, “Guns do not kill people, people do.” However, guns are an effective way of protection and states should not make stricter gun control laws because it is ineffective and creates additional problems in today’s violent society.
Gun control is a highly controversial topic in today’s world where the fight is between the liberal and the conservatives. Many people believe that guns should be banned due to many recent massacres that have happened whereas others are wanting people to have background checks done before owning a gun. I am against gun control because banning handguns in the United States should not be allowed because handguns fail to protect the people and it is ineffective.

Background checks would only work if the government makes the law stricter but since is not yet strict, then things will still remain the same. Instead, of making more laws, the government should let people carry guns with them because the gun could be used for protection. There could have been a possibility that in the San Bernardino shooting, the 14 individuals who died in the attack, could have survived if those individuals had a gun. Who knows where and when a shooting could happen? No one knows but the one who will commit the crime. That is why having more guns could reduce individuals to get injured or die in a shooting. Which means that more guns will equal more safety.
The topic of gun control comes with a widely spilt crowd. Some people believe that gun control is essential, especially in today’s world. Some people think gun control will help with decreasing crime and making the nation a safer place for us to live. On the other hand, there are people who speak of anti-gun control. These people believe the right to bear arms would make our nation a safe place to live due to the fact that we would have protection. Do you think the Government has the right to make something illegal like the right to bear arm? Guns have always been a topic of discussion. Many people have dedicated their lives to support or to fight gun rights. Gun rights are not only a civil rights issue, but it’s also a rights issue. On one side, the supporting side, people think guns should not be taken away and made illegal. The supporting side believes guns are a necessity for protection and a natural right. It is written in the constitution under the second amendment that it is, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms.” The other side, the side fighting gun rights thinks that guns are an unnecessary evil; they cause death when it’s not necessary, and in the wrong hands it could be very dangerous. We have seen this in numerous school shooting and public shootings over the years. Gun rights are not just a hot topic between citizens, the government is divided too. Some government officials think guns should be fully legal, other think it should be illegal and that all guns should be taken away from the people. This is a huge ongoing rights debate, because both sides have solid platforms and dedicated members. I believe people should have gun rights, having a gun to protect your rights as a person and as a citizen of the United States is a necessary evil to keep the peace. Taking away the rights citizens have to own guns will result in more violence and will create a bigger issue, because the people using their guns legally for protection will be left unprotected from other people who take advantage of the law and will use an illegal gun to commit a crime.

For example, Phillip J. Cook and Jens Ludwig (2000) speak about gun violence in the everyday life of America. They put forward the facts about the crime and mass massacre connected with gun ownership and inappropriate use. They consider political, social, and economic reasons for gun ownership control by analyzing the psychological and moral influences of gun violence victimization and the main trends of overcoming it. The authors also make an outline on the major measures that should be taken to reduce gun violence (Cook & Ludwig, 2000).
Some people believe that taking away guns will reduce or even wipe out the number of attacks or killings. The truth though is that nothing will stop the worlds problems. Even if we take away the guns in the world people are still going to be filled with hate and murder. In fact, if we bans guns in the U.S., how will people defend themselves against a robbery or some other heinous act. The answer is that it wont help. Even if guns are banned what's to that people won't but the guns illegally. In this world people will always find a way to get what they want even if that way is illegal.
Should the fact that criminals are committing crimes with the use of guns violate our right to possess guns? The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms, which is part of the bill of rights. With that being said we should take into account that all people who own a gun are not intending to do harm to others. Even if gun control laws happen to get passed, what about the innocent being murdered by gangs or mentally ill people? What if people try to steal possessions while using a gun to scare our American citizens? The cops cannot be there to protect us every second of the day and seconds can be a matter of life and death. Therefore, we should protect the right of free men and likewise punish the criminals who abuse this right of the Second Amendment. This issue completely contradicts the Second Amendment of the citizens of The United States written by our forefathers. Also guns do more good than harm, such as the thrill of hunting game and protecting our family and belongings.
Gun control is an awfully big issue in the United States today. Many people in America don’t agree with the gun control laws that they have today. Gun control laws only take guns and freedom away from law-abiding citizens. Many citizens have their own reasons for owning a gun. Why would the government want to make it harder for people to own a gun? People that own guns aren’t very likely to be attacked by criminals. Owning a handgun is one of the best ways of protection when used correctly. The second amendment states “the right to bear arms”; does this grant everyone the right to own a gun? Gun control laws have not been proven to do anything for citizens. Gun control laws just make it harder for the good guy average Joe to own a gun. Gun control laws are not a good idea, and are taking part in the loss of our freedom that was given to us.
Gun violence in America is a public health crisis, which needs to be recognized and changed by legislatures, and the voting American. As conscious Americans, we need to vote for changes to gun laws that would improve background checks nation-wide, make firearm registration mandatory, restrict the sale of assault weapons and weapon modifications that give the shooter military-grade fire power, and invest in gun-safe technology and safe firearms storage designs. This type of technology will help prevent criminally oriented people from accessing guns, and will help prevent the accidental deaths of many children by guns. This essay will explain the reforms needed to help ensure Americans can still exercise their 2nd amendment right of owning firearms, and preventing the unnecessary deaths of many Americans at the same time.
