Like many other countries, they use elements from other countries’ traditions. Attention to detail is very important to the Marshallese. They put a lot of emphasis on the correct amount of spices, for example. They also find the visual appearance of the dish very important (“Marshall Islands Cuisine”, 2013). The Marshallese do have some similar eating customs to Americans. They typically have coffee or tea in the morning with a small breakfast consisting of bread, fruit, and occasionally rice or fish. It is also usually eaten at home before going to work or school. Lunch is traditionally the biggest meal in the day and is spent with the family. It is a large feast that can last a couple hours. The foods for lunch are usually local and consist of vegetables, fruits, rice, and a protein such as fish or chicken. Then dinner is typically the smaller meal consisting of leftovers from lunch. Sometimes, if the parents are working during the day, lunch is eaten at work and dinner is then the family feast (“Food”,
Of African origin are such specialities as gumbo and pralines, West Indian callaloo and duckandoo (a dish of greens and a dessert based on sweet potatoes), the Brazilian condiments dende oil and spicy hot sauces. Jamaica's bammy bread and the pan bread so beloved in the southern United States are both said to have their origin in the flat round cassava breads typical of Africa. Seeds and the plants of sesame, okra, some melons, and certain varieties of greens as well as yams, together with many techniques of bread making, and the use and combination of spices, are also all credited to the ingenuity of the African cook. It could be argued that every nation and every ethnic group has its own soul food. But the contemporary connotation of the term "soul food" refers to the gradual blending and developing of a peculiar style of cookery with its own dictionary of food terms: it is a blend of West African cookery begun in the southern United States and now very much a part of the cultural tradition of African-Americans, binding them proudly to their African heritage.... ...

In Homer’s epic The Odyssey a powerful symbol is the dual role of food. Throughout the novel, food was apart of their culture but it also represents situations in which feasting was a form of temptation. Additionally, many Greek people were not confined to one region, and were spread out all across the western world(Ionian-Greeks, Mycenaeans). In small Greek communities and City-states, Greek customs were the biggest legislative force. The most notable Greek city-states

The three main ones were Athens, Sparta, and Miletus. Each was very different from the other. The most powerful out of all three was Sparta: a military based society. The Spartan government had a strong foundation that was all torn down by one bad leader.
Life in Greece in ancient times would remind you of your own life in many ways. There was school, family, athletic competition, and social gatherings.
