All of us get distracted and or encounter other distracted individuals in our lives at some point. We allow things to catch our attention at any time which could possibly risk the lives of others and even yourself while on the road. Whether it’s a baby crying in the back seat or a text message on your phone, enabling these things to distract us on the road could lead to a life regretting decision. The stories and events I will be summarizing below are the tragic events due to distracted driving and bad practises.

The first article titled “The Need for Speed” is about many young teens making the poor decision to exceed the speed limit at extremely high rates, due to these terrible choices the lives of the drivers as well as the passengers were taken in the incident. One story included 16 year old Spencer Mcbride along with his friends crashing into a trailer truck while speeding. This tragic event ended the lives of everyone in that vehicle on March 21st, 2002. Tammy had just left a wedding party after taking several drinks that night. She made the poor choice to drive back home while impaired by alcohol. Tammy crossed into a highway, unknown of what was up ahead she drove head on into the vehicle of Kristen Wallis. She was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death. In court the judge took in mind the caring and beloved teacher she really was before this. He intentions were never to purposely kill Kristen but rather it was just a very irresponsible decision to drive under the influence of alcohol that lead to a fatality. In the end, it was her decision to drink and to get into the vehicle that ended the life of Kristen Wallis. She must still live with the fact that she chose to follow through not knowing any of the consequences to
