Thus, the tourists take bad impression of dishonesty about the Egyptian people and they become afraid to deal with them. Moreover, there are many cases of sexual harassment that happened to many tourists so they go back to their country and never come back to again. An incident happened in Sharm El-Sheik that a British woman was raped by the security guard in a five stars hotel. The victim said, “The guard was escorting the me back to the hotel when he allegedly pulled me into my bedroom and subjected me to the brutal assault”. As a result, the victim left Egypt and the British ministry reported the sexual assault. The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) was established to protect consumers in any legal trading activities in Australia. A set of guarantees has also been introduced for those consumers who are acquiring goods and services from Australian suppliers, importers or manufacturers. The guarantees are intended to ensure that consumers will receive the goods or services they have paid for. If they have problems with the products and services they bought, they are entitled for remedies, such as repair, replacement, and refund.
The reason why corruption has become a global problem is because it’s rational to be greedy or wanting for more but soon after it gets out of control and then there is a corrupted person who in order to change would have to step down from power and become a person who doesn’t control.
The role of law reform has been exceedingly significant and effective in protecting the rights of consumers. The amendments and reforms made to the failure of existing laws have certainly increased the protection for consumers, improving access and awareness, however loopholes still exist that detracts from the overall effectiveness of the legal system in protecting consumers. Therefore, indicating that further reforms are required to improve the effectiveness of the legal system.
Many countries across the world have adopted the Consumer Bill of Rights, enforced their own consumer rights laws, and are constantly adapting and altering these laws in the face of global and technological changes. However, little research has been performed in order to identify the primary causes of JFK’s proposal of the Consumer Bill of Rights. Corruption consists in the illegitimate agreement between a corruptor and a corrupted, in which they abuse of their public power in order to obtain personal benefit. Bribery and corruption is something that has been going on for years. According to Allen, “officials perceive themselves as immune to any penalties for demanding and receiving bribes” which she states that it is one of the main reasons for bribery and corruption in underdeveloped countries. According to Transparency International, an organization committed exclusively to end corruption, three of the most corrupt countries in the world are Somalia, North Korea and Afghanistan. This does not mean that corruption is only seen in underdeveloped countries. In international business, corporate employees often find themselves dealing with corruptors in foreign countries and, in most cases, they will give in.
All companies, organizations, agencies, and professions are plagued with corruption. It is extremely problematic. Corruption effects everyone involved, even the innocent. Nurses and other medical professionals have stolen narcotics from facilities or home health patient’s’ homes. Thus, causing individuals to be placed in harms way due to the medical staff getting/being high at work, or being forced to do without necessary medication. No one is safe from corruption, not even law enforcement.
Egypt, though known around the world for its historical legacies and for its pyramids, is experiencing a deep economic crisis. The country's foreign currency reserves are less than half of what they were before the 2011 uprising that threatened Egypt's ability to pay for its own food and fuel. We see this economic crisis in Egypt's budget deficit; 14 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) and we see it in its overall debt. Many attribute Egypt’s debt to the deficits that accumulated which averaged more than the country's economic output. We can also see the country’s economic crisis in the fact that approximately 45% of Egyptians live on less than two dollars per day, in the fact that their inflation reached a high of over 12% after the July 2013 military coup, and in the fact that their tourism revenue is less than half of what it was in the last full year before the uprising. It should be noted here that Egypt’s tourism revenue is currently at 11%, coming from a primary source of foreign currency. Also supporting the country’s economic crisis is the fact that their direct fore...
