Essay On Consequences In My Classroom

When a student in my class breaks a rule or is being disruptive there will be consequences. Consequences will always be enforced in my classroom. For consequences I strongly agree with the theorist Lee Canter and Marlene Canter, I agree with a majority of the views their views on consequences. The first concept I agree with is that consequences “are never carried over to the next day” (Manning, Bucher, 2013, p. 70). I feel like this is important because people have bad days and A student could be having a bad day on Monday, and on Tuesday is a better day, but if the consequences from Monday carried over into Tuesday then the student would not be happy or motivated and the student may be in big trouble immediately after the school day begins.

With all the different theorist together I believe my classroom can be a safe and productive learning environment for my students. I believe that with a student center, cooperative learning environment my students will thrive and do well. I also believe that with the rules, rewards, and consequences I have established, my students will know what I expect of them and there will be very few behavioral issues.
The assignments this semester helped me understand how important it is to have good classroom management and create a culture of learning. When a teacher has good classroom management then the class is more likely to be safe and learn more productively. The assignments this semester all taught important parts of classroom management, and these assignments were important because they all helped make the classroom more productive.
The respect and rapport assignment taught me that in my future class it is important to make sure that my students not only respect me, but they respect each other. Respect among the students is important so the class runs smoothly and there are not behavior issues do to someone not accepting someone

I learned that it is important to make sure my students understand my rules and expectations of them while they are in my class. This assignment also gave me ideas or what kind of rewards; I will implement in my future class. The consequences part of the assignment had me thing about what kind of consequences I feel are necessary for a class to make sure they the students behave and know if they are not behaving that there will be consequences.
