The mixture of various color of matter will make the result color appear darker, because the color (of matter) will absorb the light energy that other color would reflected, in other words, as the decrease of amount of light being reflected, the result color will appear darker. A Tint of a color usually has lower color tonality and the shade of a color usually have higher color tonality. For example, cyan and blue have the some hue, but cyan is brighter, so tonality is probably around 30%, and blue is a darker color, so the tonality is around 80%. The tonal progression can help viewer to contrast colors, if color tonality of two colors is far from each other, then it allows color to be distinguished from each other. Take Yellow and Blue as example, if we consider yellow in color tonality, it will be around 20~30 % and blue can be 70~80 %. The tonality between yellow and blue is around 50%, so there is a big difference between the tonality of yellow and blue,in other word, if we use this two color in web design, the viewers are able to distinguish the color easily, so it will have good legibility. E. D. Hirsch and Lisa Delpit are both theorist on teaching diverse students. Both of these theorist believe that when teaching diverse students, teachers need to see their students for who they are. Seeing your students for who they are, means you look past the color of your students’ skin and recognize their culture. According to Stubbs, when teachers look at their students equally, no matter the color of their skin, then the teacher is considered colorblind (2002). Being colorblind is not a great thing because we should not treat all of our students the same, since each student is different. It is important to see our students for who they are because our classes are unique. Instead, our classes represent a rainbow underclass. According to Li, the rainbow underclass is the representation of families who are culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged (2008). In order to meet these student’s needs, teachers need to think about the struggles that each student face.
The Color-Blind Principle is written by Bernard Boxill discusses how color-blind and color-conscious are two very different things. This work also discusses the problems of discrimination based on something you are not responsible for such as being born black or white. Boxill uses the example of a university denying the rights of students’ admissions because their hair is parted to the right, then later states, “Suppose again for example, that a person is denied admission to law school because he parts his hair on the right side. Though he, far more easily than the black person can avoid being unfairly discriminated against, he does not thereby more easily avoid being the object, indeed, in a deeper sense, the victim, of unfair discrimination.” (463) I disagree with Boxill’s affirmative action idea because the idea of affirmative action is passing the discrimination from one race to the other.
The LWC Color Guard depends on the capability of its captains and how well they can do their job as a section leader. A leader, in general, is someone who many people look to for advice, instruction, motivation, and most importantly, encouragement. This means that it is important for a leader to have the ability to make difficult decisions and do what is best for the color guard. An essential job of a leader is to guide others as well as being an example of a hard, passionate, and dedicated worker. Some qualities that are necessary for a color guard captain are compassion, character, and courage.
I tried out for color guard in March of 2016. My experience with joining color guard has been one of the best decisions that I have made so far in my life. Not only has it changed me as a person, it has changed the way I look at situations. It sounds weird that an activity could change so much in my life, but it truly has. And it has made me a better person because of it.
The idea that people from majority groups think that they are not prejudiced is a concept known as colorblind ideology. This means that people who claim they are color-blind do not see “color” or race in any way. Many people in hiring positions or college admission claim to take on a color-blindness approach (Richeson and Nussbaum 2003). However, social psychologists would say that implementing the idea of colorblindness is not an effective approach. In order to help in eliminating prejudices actions and thoughts, people need to be aware about their thoughts and actions, even the ones in the subconscious. Adopting the color-blindness thought processes hinders from this progress being made. Especially since, much of the racism that occurs today is known as implicit racism or aversive racism. In other words, racism does not only consist of blatant racial insolence; subtle systemic racism is also alive and well. However, Americans are fixed on the notion that bigotry hasn’t been an issue since the 20th century mass lynchings. The United States’ distorted view of racism maintains the idea the country’s racial issues are behind us. In his article, “Between Colorblind and Colorconscious: Contemporary Hollywood Films and Struggles Over Racial Representation,” Jason Smith demonstrates the ways in which color blindness ineffectively addresses racial injustices within society. Based on the findings that one has discovered in life itself, in essence, color helps with the flows of life in a way that it can determines your thoughts, emotions, and decisions. In my research I gained a vast amount knowledge and from what I’ve learned; now I can explain colors in depth, with a great amount of detail. If colors were non-existent, then, there would be a very grey look upon life. Colors brings forth light, and the light brings forth living. The world displays colors for a reason and it’s very important to life.
In the video named Cress Theory of Color Confrontation, the class is introduced to a professor named Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. She tells everyone during her presentation, that white supremacy exists and explains there are nine areas of people activity. There are areas that have white supremacy. But, some of those areas lack proof and evidence and they need to have it to back their claims. Those types of claims need have concrete evidence that white supremacy exists in this world, and Dr. Welsing has succeeded and failed to give it. The areas of people activity that have or lack evidence of racism are labor, law, and politics.

As a result Dichromatic or Monochromatic humans who are missing a certain type of cone(s), or even trichromatic humans with a cone sensitive to an anomalous wavelength can be labelled as colour blind. Whilst these ‘colour blind’ individuals are usually still able to detect differences in colour across the visible spectrum of light they ultimately see the colour world in an abnormal way to an individual with a normal visual system.

Throughout society today, colorism and racism play a huge role in many lives. Though the similarities between the two may confused individuals, there happens to be a difference between colorism and racism. Racism is the belief that all members of each race processes certain characteristics or abilities specific to that race. Gloria Yamato says, “Racism is persuasive to the point that we take most of its manifestations for granted believing, “That’s Life” (Yamato 65). Racism can vary seeing as though you could be a specific type of racist. The four different types of racism that exist today are the “aware/blatant, the aware/covert, the unaware/unintentional, and lastly the unaware/self-righteous” (Yamato 66). Colorism is prejudice and discrimination against individuals with a darker skin tone. Colorism typically happens between individuals of the same ethnic and racial groups. In society today, colorism exists due to the accumulated experiences of racism, “which can generate questions and doubts in the minds of people of color about their place in a predominately white society” (Osajima141).
Colorism has became a huge issue in today’s society. Colorism is an issue because, it is a form of racism, it reflects back on the days of slavery, it is overall rude, and jail terms are affected.
Color is perceived by the human eye and brain together by translating light into color. Light receptors within the eye transmit messages to the brain, which produces the familiar sensations of color. The retinas in the eyes have receptors for color called cones, iris color is actually the result of the amount or density of pigment cells in the iris. Pigment cells, called melanocytes, produce the pigment known as melanin. The amount and density of the melanin determines what colors of light are absorbed and what is reflected. In retrospect, the higher the concentration of melanin in the iris, the darker the iris color.
