A) Professional Dancer
1. Who is a professional dancer?
A professional dancer is someone who dancers either in a company, or performs in shows and in theatres. They are very passionate about what they do; this is why they continue dancing no matter how hard it may be as a profession.
2. Why viable too the SA context
A dancer is viable to a country and in specific South Africa because it brings people together. Dance should become more well- known in the country, being a dancer I think will one day have a future because dance is developing in the South Africa, more dance companies are developing and growing and the country has recognised dance as a sport (better than nothing I guess lol) There might not be as many companies as overseas but

This is called anatomy, as a dancer you need to know where your body is and the positioning of your body.

Project management is also a good qualification to have if you want to be a dancer, as many employers seem to want project management skills whether or not the job requires project management skills or not. Project management involves taking responsibility for a project from beginning to end as well as. http//jobs.ac.uk. Says that it is important to develop this skill as it is helpful if they want you to do a small research task or anything as big as a multimillionaire business venture.
5. Experience needed
It is important to be experienced as the more experienced you are the easier it is for you to keep up with the demands the company or employer offers you. The more opportunities you have the easier it would be for you to pick up on choreography. When an employer makes a choice on who they want to employ they will obviously want to employ a dancer who has done or has danced in more events, had more exposure, danced different types of dance styles, danced with different people and choreographers. The more experience you have show’s that you will be able to cope and understand the amount of work that needs to be done and will be able to dance with different people and in different
...re of different dance cultures within the vocabulary of their scope, then the results would be so astounding as to give that dancer an unspoken quality distinguishing them from among their peers. Movement knowledge is cultural knowledge and remembering that each culture is beautiful and different in its own way can help create a dancer that will resonate with any audience member.
It will allow me to be a manager and better my leadership skills. I will learn how to manage a big group of people, which is something that can be applied to many various careers. I will learn the best way to be a teacher and to stay calm and focused when things get difficult or crazy. All of these skills are not only applicable to the dance world, but to life in general.
For the dancer, music and choreography are paramount. The music guides the dancer, and the moves express the music. However, the dance has to start from somewhere.
The words “competitive dance” alone say it all. The whole purpose of dancing at competitions is to compete against other dance teams in order to try and win an award. Without the competition aspect, dance should not be considered a sport. Yes, it is a physical activity that involves a lot of strength and time that needs to be dedicated to it. But without the competitive aspect, it would not be a sport. To be a sport, a team has to compete against another team for the enjoyment and entertainment of others (Sport, 1). This is the goal of any competitive dancer or dance team. For something to be a sport, it specifically needs to be in a competition setting as well as have the purpose behind it of entertaining. People do not go to a football or basketball game to sit there and watch two teams just play an equal and fair game with no activity and no winner. If all games and performances in the sports realm were like this there would be no one there to watch them because they would not be entertaining. With competitive dance, there is always two or more teams or dancers going up against each other to get the win. And a major reason why dancers compete is to entertain, because they love the satisfaction of the crowd being pleased by their performance. “I dance because it feels good. Also, applause,” said Helen Phelan, a freelance dancer
The Pressures of Dancers The typical idea of a dancer is that they are tall, slender, full of energy, and lucky because they dance with all of the “stars”. Much of this is true, however, what many people do not think of are the many hardships that a dancer goes through in order to achieve their high status in the dance world. It takes a lot of hard work and determination along with good direction to become a dancer. However, nothing good comes without a price.
As a student studying kinesiology, I believe that professionals should acquire knowledge of dance because dance is an activity that has to do with physical movements. In my opinion, to be a professional in Kinesiology we must have enough knowledge of the human movement and dance is indeed a topic that requires the knowledge of physical movements. The physical education professionals are not like psychiatrists or physicians that give the clients medicine and tell them what to stay away from. However, people in the other fields, i.g. physical education, have to let clients know that there is a different kind of approach to their issues by introducing them to dance. Dance is related to the history of kinesiology because it has been practiced since long ago and it is still present
I have been dancing since the age of four. I started my intense training with Tanju and Patricia Tuzer, Debra Bale, and Linda Brown at Tuzer Ballet. Ballet is a sport where you express yourself using dance. You can dance on flat or on your tippy toes on pointe shoes. Ballet is one of many different types of dance, such as Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, Tap, and Hip Hop. Ballet can be danced to show feeling, emotion, and just for pure amusement! You can start as young as you’d like to be a dancer. In ballet, there are 5 main positions. There is first, second, third, fourth, and fifth position. First position is where you put your heels together in parallel which is when you stand in a straight line with your knees together, and open your feet to turn out. Second position is where you start in first, and then you open your legs, still turned out. Third is where you cross your legs and the leg in
are very few jobs available in the field, pre-professional dancers must also be very competitive
There are hundreds of professional dancers across the world waiting to reach their success, and out of those hundreds of dancers, I qualify in becoming one. Dance is my passion, my adrenaline, and my focus that keeps me persevering through life and its obstacles. Dancing requires a lot of dedication and hard work. “Successful dancers must have excellent balance, physical strength, and physical dexterity, so they can move their bodies without falling” (Dancers and Choreographers). If serious about dance, dancers have to have discipline in taking the time out to practice, study, and practice some more. If dance is what you're look forward to doing, I'd get busy because time waits for no one…
Dancing is a tremendously difficult task. That is why all dancers must have a mind mentally
...lly dancers have to love the dance, because for all that work, dancers get little money—workshops with master dancers usually cost around seventy-five dollars, costumes average five hundred dollars each, and dancers are usually paid only fifty dollars for two and a half hours of work. But Belinda Shakar cannot imagine her life without dance: “I’ve gone through so many careers, but I’ve always stuck with belly dance. I’ve just been doing it for so long.” From dancing, she has found freedom in being in touch with her body and the healing powers of movement. She is now working as a massage therapist, helping others free up their bodies as well. For her, dance is about enjoying her body and expressing her sensuality, not entertaining others or making money. So she is not at all concerned about making it to the top. Besides, she says, “in belly dancing, there is no top.”
Dancing is a form of art that allows many children to express themselves through body motion while developing many skills. Children throughout the world have been dancing since the day they began walking. When a child to take their first steps and puts together the simplest combination of movements, that would be considered as dancing. Music also plays a major role in the development of children understanding dance, because it is can be used as an accompaniment, and can help children get a better feel for the rhythm in dances. Over the past century educators have come to the conclusion that dance serves as a form of art, and should be taught in public schools and colleges to help the growth in children of all ages both physically, mentally, and academically.
I know that while I dance my heart rate rises and I get exercise. Many of my dance teachers will tell us to keep the right form until we have muscle memory or until we don’t have to think about moving our muscles in a certain way. In one of my dance classes we had a day dedicated to our bodies, seeing what parts of the body are affected by dancing. I found that we use all of our bodies in dance, so it
To many, dance is only an art. In reality, dance is much more. It 's an art, a sport, a way to express one’s self, a way to exercise, a way to get feelings out. Since the beginning of time, humans have used different types of dance to express themselves. There are many advantages to dancing, however there are also some disadvantages. Dance is one of the most physically and cognitively demanding sports.
