Many have individual ambitions of which they pursue and strive greatly to achieve. I for one, wish to inspire, project my skills, and embolden others to follow, whilst enhancing aspects of my own creativity. My greatest passion of all is the media itself, mainly pivoting on both the visual and auditory features. I feel that it offers a creative insight and often encodes a true representation of an artists ideology and culture. The combination of film making and music production seems to coincide perfectly, as it covers a broad spectrum of artistic influence. My fixation is mainly inspired by notable talents, such as Gore Verbinski and Nick Cave, whom are musicians as well as successful film makers.
My passion for film production is one that stems from a young age. When watching any form of

I have always been attentive to the cinematic techniques and shot types used, integrating them within my own cinematic developments. Edgar Wright and Christopher Nolan mostly inspire me as a creator, as their cinematography style is dynamic, visually consuming and artistic. Throughout the years, I have developed and progressed as a film maker. My A-Level choices, (Media, Film, Photography), have aided me in perusing my passion, as they have provided me with the opportunity to experiment and thrive within the art, whilst enjoying both written and practical aspects of the courses. I have made several compositions and short films over the recent years, including landscape cinematography, product advertisements, short films and many other forms of visual media. My photography course has aided me in creating artistic shot types, adapting visually enticing attributes in to my developments. I am also fluent on post
To fully understand the relationship between a filmmaker and a composer, it is helpful to take a closer look at the filmmaker’s position towards music in film in general; these can of course differ substantially from one director to another. It seems, one must think, that the complete narrative and emotive potential of film music is not yet fully recognized and appreciated in many film produc...
I grew up watching Star Wars. Some of my earliest memories were watching the original trilogy on VHS with my grandma. I vividly remember going to theatres to watch the prequels. Words cannot express the emotions I had seeing this worlds and characters come to life before my eyes. Ever since then, I knew that I wanted to make movies. Fast forward a decade or so, there is now a new Star Wars trilogy gearing up and I am going to college to get a degree in Communications.
After listening to all four movements of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor, I have suddenly been awakened to the tremendous influence that the Classical Form of music has had on modern day works, especially in the area of the film industry which it is used to create drama, tension, and joy. History owes a debt of gratitude to composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, who build upon the legacy of pioneers such as Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to create his own unique blend of symphonic compositions which will be revered throughout generations because of their continued appeal to the
RH: What inspired you to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and especially as a screenwriter? What kind of training have you had to prepare for these jobs?
For my research paper I have chosen to outline the life and career of Danny Elfman. From his start as a street performer, to his days of rock stardom with the band Oingo Boingo, and his composing career in Hollywood teaming up with the likes of Tim Burton, Spielberg, and beyond. Danny Elfman was born in 1953 in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California. Elfman is self-taught with no formal training. When Danny was 18 he obtained his first taste for preforming arts. It was with a French theatrical trope called “Le Grand Magic Circus”. A year later he began to preform in musical theater on the streets of California with his brother Richard Elfman. After a few
“I pay attention to those things. I'm not one to follow the pack and have always wanted to sound unique, always searching and stretching. I understand how to write and play interesting music. This is what I do and what I love. It's my passion. And it comes naturally to me. Plus I'm obsessed with it. I listen to everything and often. I know what's happening in almost all music areas. So there's a lot to draw from. I'm constantly thinking about creating, finding inspiration along the way. I really don't stop!
From my start as a photographer, I was always drawn to taking photographs of people. I feel it was only instinct that made me interested in this type of photography. Other people pushing their ideas on me would come much later. For a few years I made photographs on my own, exploring a whole range of imagery from sports to still life, but I always felt images of people were my strongest. Then I went to college at a very intensive school for photography. From the start I was pushed into the world on Cartier-Bresson and his style. I started concentrating on this documentary style of photography and began to pull away from experimenting in other genres. This was fine with me because I was fairly successful with documentary photography and was being praised be my professors. After a while I became stuck in my ways and found it very hard to shoot in any other manner. At the present my portfolio is based solely on black and white documentary photography. I still am very proud of working in this manner, but I am quite frustrated with finding work as a documentary photographer.
In film music, composers use compositional techniques to control, manipulate and alter the objectives and foundation of a story, improving the development of characters, emotions or initiating subtext in film. The job of creating music for film has taken different forms, but as film production and technology changes and improves, the process of scoring music for films has been taken to a high standard of work, involving a strenuous and careful process to provide the film 's objectives to reach their potential. The process involves a set of guidelines a composer must work within in order to create music for film, although aside from those guidelines, composers now strive to rediscover and rework creative new forms of compositional techniques
The job of a music supervisor is an incredibly difficult and important task that is often overlooked or not given proper funding. Seeing as music plays such an essential role in the mood and substance of visual media, the job of acquiring the music should be put at the forefront of a production, and yet, it is normally left to post-production, when money is thin. Music supervisors provide an important balance of maintaining the creative vision of the filmmaker and adhering to the usually low budget, a feat that is deserving of a higher rank of importance.

The role of music in modern film has a large impact on the audience. Wether its creating suspense, release, building up a a scene, breaking down a scene, or attracting attention to certain characters or objects, music undoubtably makes a difference on how these movies are presented. When looking at music in modern film, three general tendencies can be noted from each example. The incorporation of the principles established by Wagner’s music dramas; the assimilation of ever-changing trends in popular music; and the constant search for fresh, new sounds, including resources from across the globe, are the three general tendencies noted. While each composer created an individual sound, these tendencies are found in each listening example presented
I have addressed how I plan to carry out my exit project. I talked about what is required of me to complete my exit project, what I have done so far, and what I still need to do towards my progress and completion of my time lapse video. Doing this project has helped me discover my purposes for choosing it: to expand my knowledge, experience, and technique on photography, explore my photography capabilities, and to give me a overall opinion on my future in relation to photography. I also will use this project and the experiences that come with it as a test of my faith in myself, patience, and perseverance.
In fact it proves that since the late twentieth century music and its practice has been through a continuous changing process becoming incredible audible and essential in films. Music moved to the centre opening space to new forms of artistic expression and its usage in films. It is important to take into account that: the usage of music in films has different parameters according to the period of history in which it was used or represented. A narrative that used music to emphasize a touching moment in 1945 would be totally different of the one used in 2005. “ This is to a significant degree due to the disparities in the films as much as the spectators.
