Scary Movies are Good For Health
Although scary movies can be hard to watch and get all the way through without leaving the room or closing one's eyes through the heart pounding scenes of a serial killer slowly chasing people down a hallway. There are some great benefits of watching a scary movie such as being put in a good mood after watching through a whole scary movie, Immune system boosts, as well as burning the calories consumed from the overpriced snacks that the movie theater sells.
It may be hard to believe, but after watching a suspenseful thrilling experience of a scary movie, viewers actually will go out of the movies in a better mood than they went into the movies with. After scary or traumatizing experiences people have a reaction called “fight or flight” which decides whether they will run away or fight/resist during a scary situation. Because of the fight or flight reaction in the human brain, scary movies trigger the same reaction as if they were actually being chased in real life, but instead of running they would hide their faces. The fight or flight reaction significantly increases the immune system for a short period of time, so while watching a movie there is no need to be worried about getting sick.
