Recommended: Introduction to haiti country

Haiti is a very interesting country, people always want to visit places like Florida where it’s tropical. Well, if you want to visit a really tropical place you should go to Haiti. I promise you it doesn’t matter why you are going there: vacation, mission trip, or anything. You won’t regret it. I’m going to tell you more about Haiti, and how amazing it can be. Haiti has three main massifs aka mountain ranges. It also has two peninsulas with the Gonave Gulf in between. With the Peninsulas, Haiti is shaped like a horseshoe on it’s side. Haiti is only about 28,000 square kilometers, which is very small compared to 169,790 square km just in Wisconsin. (it’s about the size of Maryland) The weather is usually between 70-80 degrees fahrenheit, but it can get up to 100 degrees, and tank to 60 degrees. It usually NEVER gets below 60 degrees. It is mainly all tropical, because mountains in the east cut off the wind. In Haiti they speak their own kind of language. They speak Haitian Creole, it …show more content…

They eat a lot of beans and rice, usually mixed with some sort of meat. Such as pork, goat, lamb, and other meats. On the French side, they eat a lot of spaghetti, they eat spaghetti for breakfast, and make shakes out of it. One of the drinks they make is Haitian hot chocolate. It has Haitian cocoa, star anise, (which is a spice) cinnamon, and vanilla. They eat a lot of mushrooms, and other fresh foods. Haiti also has some customs and traditions. Greetings are very important, men usually shake hands, and women throw kisses. Everyone else kiss on the cheek. They also have a lot of other traditions, such as participating in Carnival, it is very close to New Orlean’s Mardi Gra celebration. Sadly many people also participate in voodoo ceremonies, they have voodoo priests, and priestesses. Other occasions they celebrate are baptisms, first communions, and other catholic traditions.
