“Exercise is the physical exertion of the body - making the body do a physical activity which results in a healthy or healthier level of physical fitness and both physical and mental health” (MNT). Exercise is vital for every person whether they are malnourished or cumbersome. A person needs to work out almost 3-4 times a week to keep them in shape and to stay vigorous. “People exercise for many different reasons such as; to socialize, to relax, controlling body weight or for fun” (MNT). The most common myths surrounding exercise are that an individual can consume anything after working out for 30-45 minutes and that low intensity workout burns more fat. There are many more myths regarding exercise.

The myth is that if you exercise at a higher frequency instead of burning fat you start burning carbohydrates which is not good for your body. It 's the most dangerous type of myth because there 's not a kernel of truth in it, Hutchinson said (Park 3). When you exercise at a higher frequency you may burn more carbs instead of fat but more calories are burned that way, which is good. Fitzgerald an exercise expert says that, you can ignore zones and pay attention to how many calories you burn, which ultimately determines how much body fat you 're going to lose (Park 4). A few other myths concerning exercise are that working out does not affect obese/overweight people and home exercises are less effective than exercise at a gym. Studies have confirmed that obese/overweight people who exercise more often have a lower risk of all- cause mortality compared to an individual, regardless of their weight (10 exercise myths, IDEA).
Many women hesitate to work out because they think it will make them bulky. “Women have too much estrogen to build large amounts of bulk. Guys build muscles faster because they have testosterone” (Park 5). It is good for women to strengthen their muscles by physical activities at least 3 times a week. ”Most exercise experts believe that cardiovascular exercise and strength training are both valuable for maintaining a healthy weight.
