By the time they arrived, they were running low on food, but that didn’t matter because they all awaited the feast and celebration when they arrived. Just as they expected, when they arrived, they were greeted with crowds cheering and celebrating. After hours of partying, Henry was pulled aside by the temporary leader named Morgan, Morgan said, “I don’t want to ruin your fun, but where is Sarah?”. Henry had forgotten about the traitor, he informed Morgan of the situation, “I’m sorry, sir, but she was one of or the traitor among the guild of knights, if we hadn’t heard her plans she would’ve destroyed any hopes we had of saving Sentipus.”. Morgan proudly said, “ We suspected her but nevertheless, You’ve done the guild of knights and your country a great service, sadly, Sarah was one of the most trusted of the guild of knights, but with her gone, you can take her position as the chief advisor of the guild of knights.”. Henry couldn’t believe it, he was ecstatic, he then looked over at Ben, he was sitting in the corner of the room alone, Henry knew how out of place he probably felt but he knew what he had to do. He was once King Baltimore’s Chief Advisor until he was framed and put in jail, he knows what to do and is far more qualified for this position than I could ever be.”. Morgan was equally surprised as Ben and said, “No one else here would ever give up the opportunity that you’re giving up, why should I allow him to be chief advisor?”. Henry proudly said, “Because without him, the guild of knights wouldn’t need a chief advisor because the guild of knights would have failed, you know just as well as I do that he is by far the best person for this job.”. Morgan looked back at Henry and questionably asked, “Are you sure you want to do this?”. Without hesitation, Henry confirmed his choice. Morgan turned to Ben and asked for his opinion, “Ben, do you believe you can fulfill the responsibility that comes with being chief
In “Letter from Birmingham Jail” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. proves that he is well knowledgeable in the happenings in Birmingham. By providing a surplus of examples of events and details which he finds alarming, King was able to persuade the clergymen to like at the way the Negro community is being treated in the south using the appeal to logos, pathos and ethos. He displays his willingness to continue with respect and dignity, but because of the emotional ties that he has towards this cause, he will not remain inactive.
In BizCafe and project meetings, Clay consistently initiated and added onto discussions, generally staying on topic and offering good contributions. Clay often lead important discussions but made sure not to talk over the contributions of others. Although he often acted as the de-facto leader, he would always cede with what the majority supported or alternatively try and persuade the group to try a new method if he believed it would benefit the group as a whole. Perhaps the best example of this was on the eleventh period of BizCafe when our numbers were not doing well. At this point, we all felt defeated and with so few periods left we were concerned that there was no way for our team to succeed in the simulation. With new information about how Tigré was running their café, Clay proposed a drastic new strategy of expanding our hours, hiring way more employees, and cutting advertisement. This new strategy turned out to be incredibly successful, even though some of us were hesitant to try it at first. Clay reframed the issue so those who were undecided could understand his viewpoint. Throughout the BizCafe simulation, Clay was one of the most active contributors, proposing changes and strategies large and small. A minor role Clay exhibited was that of Encourager, with I observed both inside and outside of our group. Throughout the semester, Clay has worked to acknowledge the contributions of

Also, the clergymen believed the time that will allow segregation to be diminished was not happening anytime soon because it is not convenient. King refuted the clergymen’s argument in a variety of ways using tactics of argumentation and persuasion like appeal to emotion through real life examples, appeal to logic, and even articulating certain phrases through metaphors and word choice. Many of these different tactics of argumentation and persuasion made his letter very effective and is now seen as a great piece that is looked upon highly today.

Dr. Martin Luther King addressed many topics in “Letter from Birmingham Jail”. He answered all the issues that were aimed at him in a very skillful and well thought out manner. These issues came from “A Call For Unity”, which was a letter published by eight local clergymen expressing their feelings about what Dr. King was doing. One concern, in particular, that King did an outstanding job of confronting was that of the clergymen’s anxiety about him breaking the law. King addresses the question of, “How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others?”

Ironically, he had cursed the murderer to a “life consumed in evil and wretchedness.” Thanks to Oedipus’ own pride and conceited ego, malediction had turned upon him. Likewise, Oedipus’ own stubbornness and willpower towards solving the mystery behind Laius’ death, ironically lead to the revelation of who his actual parents were. A feeling of catharsis was expressed as it was made clear that the ultimate tragedy was the result of the tragic hero’s hubris and ironic actions.

One of the important decisions Ben was faced with was in the tenth grade. He had to decide weather or not he wanted to continue on his downward spiral with school and friends or if he wanted to get his act together and become high in rank in his school’s ROTC program. After seeing his brother in his ROTC uniform Ben was certain he wanted to follow in Curtis’ footsteps. He knew he would have to work tremendously hard if he ever wanted to be named colonel as a student. Carson decided to put his best foot forward and forgot about being in the “it” crowd with the “right” clothes and focused on his ROTC goal. Ben was honored when Sgt. Bandy put him in charge of the most rambunctious class. His strategy for whipping the class into shape was getting to know them individually and then “structured the exercises accordingly (65).” Sgt Bandy was pleased to see that Ben turned the worst class into the best class of the unit in a matter of weeks. Ben was then promoted to second lieutenant. By the time he graduated Ben not only reached his goal and was ranked colonel, but he had been offered a full scholarship to West Point. A whole new decision in its own, Ben turned the scholarship down to pursue his dreams of being a doctor.

As the tragedy comes to a close, the truth is revealed to Oedipus concerning his lineage and unnatural actions. Although the truth had been spoken to him about these matters previously, Oedipus had chosen not to believe and understandably so. True revelation comes to Oedipus through the same slave that had been ordered to kill him as a baby.
