Have you ever judged a book by it’s cover, and been wrong? An outsider from the human race is trying to protect his race from going extinct. The novel ‘Ender's Game,’ by Orson Scott Card, is about a military child who is faced with beating an insect like alien species so the human race will not die. But what ‘Enders Game’ is really about is not judging a book by its cover. Ender has his monitor taken off which results in him being harshly bullied by his brother, getting into fights at school, and he is chosen to go to Battle School, (a training facility for future commanders). In Battle School Ender is picked on and made fun of because of his size. Near the end of Battle School Ender becomes a commander of an army and moves to the top of the leaderboard. Ender is eventually given a break and is sent back down to earth,but he is then sent back up to space this time he is sent command school where he will face the buggers and win. “I am given such a useless, untrained, hopeless specimen of underdevelopment as yourself,” (pg.76 and 77). The fact that Bonzo is saying that Ender is underdeveloped or small shows that because of his size Bonzo thinks Ender is useless and unworthy. “You're about as strong as a fart … Ender kicked out and hard ... he dropped,”(Pg. 7). This shows that Stilson thought Ender was weak and he could easily beat him, but Ender won the fight. Ender's opponents underestimated him which would create chances for him to strike. When Stilsons friends let go of Ender he is able to kill Stilson. ‘Ender's Game’ is a lot like World War 2. Stilson and Bonzo would underestimate Ender in his smarts and what he could actually do whereas Hitler was underestimated by Americans ;consequently Hitler mass murdered Jews.
