Employees have more control
This proposal is to imagine that you have landed a job in a career to have improved your place of employment and to convince the place of employment to enact the changes we are recommending. The purpose of this proposal is to improve the place of employment by having employees take more control in their workplace including controlling over their schedules, environment and work habits.
The idea of this proposal is mainly beneficial to the employees and their outside work which is not part of their job. The problem of this proposal leading to making a change in convincing the place of employment can come in many different ways. There are three problems; I want to discuss which leads to employees not having control over their workplace. It includes the idea of job affecting their health, their morale and their ability to handle their workload.
The first problem of employees not having control over their workplace can lead to affecting their employee’s health. According to Robert Karasek; for example most people who worked for long hours did not have much time to spend taking care of their outside task which was their family and would usually suffer from stress. My mom is a good example due to the fact that she is a nurse .She doesn’t have enough time to stay at home and help the family and she works about 18 hours which is more than half of the day. She has about 6 hours remaining to stay in the house to relax and function for the next day. This mostly brings stress to her which is not really convenient.
The second problem is that it can affect your morale. For it affecting your morale, you will not be confident to work in that kind of environment. This will make you think mostly abo...

...of the time constraints which includes the idea of not having time to your outside work but mainly to your job, discussion of the organization for which I worked for, the reason why the proposal would help to benefit the organization and the conclusion statement discussing generally what we talked about.

Work related stressors: Psychological ill health due to the demands of work such as long hours, work overload, pressure, and complaints.
The climate crisis of the 21st century seems to be all about climate change and or global warming. Many people think the most of the manmade climate is being caused by the world’s largest companies that use the most power, which between them produced nearly two-thirds of the greenhouse gas emissions generated since the dawning of the industrial age, new research suggests. The companies range from investor owned firms, household names such as Chevron, Exxon and BP to state owned and government ran companies. The analysis say that, which has been welcomed by the former Vice President Al Gore as a "crucial step forward" found that most of the majority of the companies were in the business of producing oil, gas or coal. What is the problem/issue at your workplace that you think needs to be changed? Why do you think it needs to be changed? This is a section where you need to provide adequate details so that I fully understand the problem/issue and why you think it needs to be changed.

Working in a fast-paced environment and being on their feet can really take a toll on a person. In addition they have to be prepared for anything to happen during their shift. A study of overworked and stressed nurses found that nurses are overworked suffered from physical sickness like type two diabetes (Stress and overworked 2006). For most nurses, their work week consists of more than sixty hours. Working that many hours can double their chances of sicknesses. When they compare the working week hours of nurses who worked the normal 21 to 40 hours with those that work more than 40 or 60 hours a week, they found that in comparison the ones who worked 40 hours or more a week increased the risk by almost 50 percent for type 2 diabetes (Stress and overwork 2006). If nurses were to work their normal work hours without mandatory overtime, then their health would improve.
Working in today’s society has changed in the last few decades. The economy and technology are the main reasons for this change. The type of job and environment where one works has also changed. The fact that many people work from home via the internet has drastically changed the workforce and the environment surrounding it. With this change have come new demands, expectations, and opportunities for employers. Everyone deals with these demands differently, affecting the employee’s quality of life and job satisfaction. Though the job and office types and locations have changed over the years the need for job satisfaction has not. In today’s economy the job is not as stable as it used to be. One must be prepared for changes in the future.
It is a well-established reality that organisations in the world today can no longer survive without focusing on their employees. If they have to be at the competitive edge, they have to invest in human resources, and placing their employees on top priority. This notion has led to the strategies that, most organisations are pursuing through employee management. To achieve the optimum performance of employees, organisations must motivate their employees, and engage them in activities that will benefit and help employees in achieving their predetermined goals and objectives. In order to achieve this, it is imperative for managers to set in motion work conditions that will help employees to achieve satisfaction of their job, low turnover and absenteeism rate and promote the environment that promotes the organizational commitments and organizational citizenship behavior.
The potential ramifications for the employer can be costly when employees succumb to internal and external stressors. To effectively combat job stress and develop a comprehensive stress management program, organizations must be cognizant of several areas that may be contributing factors to an employee’s stress level. Internally, organizations should review the employee’s workload and ensure that they have the necessary skills to complete the tasks they are expected to complete (Ornelas & Kleiner, 2003). They must also work to “motivate, challenge and take full advantage of the employee’s skills and abilities” (Ornelas & Kleiner, 2003). Employee’s job stress can also be decreased by allowing them take an active part in decisions, creating an atmosphere that facilitates a support network, and offering flexibility in their schedules that allows them to address responsibilities outside the workplace (Ornelas & Kleiner, 2003).
Occupational stress is strongly associated with health complains more than financial or family problems. Psychological demanding jobs that allow the workers little control on the process of work increase risks of cardiovascular disease, job stress also increases the risk of back and upper musculoskeletal disorders. The article shows that the employees who have high stress levels have a substantial health service utilization.
The purpose of this article was to inform readers about five human resource policies that can lead employees to seek employment elsewhere. They are: time-off policies, transfer policies, references, bereavement leave policies, and theft of time policies. The author believes that “Most organizations of more than a few hundred people are burdened by unfortunate and misguided policies that serve to slow operations and drive away talented employees.” (Ryan) The author attempts to correct these unfair policies by shedding some light on them.
It was once a common belief that if employees worked hard, showed up on time and followed the rules that they would be guaranteed a job for life. However, over the last decade there have been changes in the workplace. There are two main causes for this change. The changes in the work place in the twenty-first century are being caused by advancements in technology and expansions in globalization through the Internet.
Describe and explain how this factor can potentially have a negative influence on workplace relationships
Research indicates that long working hours contribute largely to stress and stress related diseases. Currently, employees are being put on pressure by the organization in order to achieve the set goals. Nevertheless, the employees are willing to work for longer hours in order to earn more money to satisfy their increasing needs (Gullotta et al., 2003:23). On the other hand, the organizations have been compelling their subordinates to work for longer hours as a way of punishment or increasing the possibility of achieving the set goals within the stipulated time. This aspect has increased the number of depressed people in the population. With many people being unaware of how to deal with depression, they are turning to smoking. As a result, long working hours have been associated with smoking behaviors (Burke & Cooper 2008:46). The most affected people are the young people. This behavior has increased the number of people suffering from cancer and other respiratory related diseases in the world. In addition, it has increased the number of people suffering from heart and lung diseases.
In Today’s world, the composition and how work is done has massively changed and is still continuing to change. Work is now more complex, more team base, depends greatly on technological and social skills and lastly more mobile and does not depend on geography. Companies are also opting for ways to help their employees perform their duties effectively so that huge profits are realized in the long term .The changes in the workplaces include Reduction in the structure of the hierarchy ,breakdown in the organization boundaries , improved and better management tactics and perspectives and lastly better workplace condition and health to the employees.
